Re: dont know what to do
Probably not much help. but the 1st thing I would do is check to see if the disc is even turning...put it in with label straight up, then when it fails, eject...odds are severely against the disc being oriented the same way if it spins, so if it hasn't moved, the main drive motor is bound up or dead. Either way, return it.

U can't not stop profanity,if u watch NC17,PG13 or Rated R DVD movies.Captioning CC1,2,3 dosen't effect the DVD movie. It only have captioning on the tv that in tv brocasting shows, not in the DVD movie. If u want no profanity in movies watch PG movies.
Are the movies you're watching store purchased DVDs? Sometimes with downloaded movies, the audio and video are just out of sync.
If they're store bought, it's possible that you've got a delay set in your receiver. Consult your receiver's operating manual to see if there's a "delay" option.
It's also possible that you're hearing that delay in the TV speakers.
If you've got the audio coming through the receiver AND the tv, you'll hear a slight delay when the audio's traveling from the DVD player to the television itself. This could happen "sometimes", if the tv volume is on, and not happen when the tv volume is off.
I have a Sanyo Dvd/vhs player and I recentlty went to dish network instead of cable and I do not know how to get the player to work now so I can watch movies that I have rented. Can you tell me how to use the remote to watch movies.
I'm sure you've found the solution by now, but I'm going to post a response for people in the future with the same problem. The unlock code for dvd's is found on page 25 in my users guide. I dont know if the code is different for every t.v. but mine is 1369. Hope this helps. Also I thought it was kinda funny because the same exact thing happened to my daughter with the same Barbie Island Princess movie the day after Christmas!
take a quick peek in the manual and find out where to disable the progressive scan features. may be a button on the back, or you may have to go through the on screen menu to find it. take the disc out and see if you can view what's on screen.
or since you said you had a couple of movies that did work properly, put one of those in, start the movie, go into the dvd player setup menu and disable the progressive scan settings
