Question about Sony KP-57XBR10 57" Rear Projection Television

1 Answer

No picture or sound from TV.

When I power tht TV on, the standby/timer blinks for a few seconds, then I hear a clicking sound and it then blinks rapidly and steps. This step repeats again and again. I tried unplugging the TV and it did not make any difference. I get sound from a Yamaha receiver. So sound is OK.
Any ideas??

Picture went out and red light on the front by power button is blinking. When I turn TV on I can hear sound but no picture,, then TV turns off automatically after a few seconds.

It seems problem with low screen voltage to three picture tubes in this rear projection tv.
If standby light blinks 5 times after three seconds long pause then adjust screen volts of each picture tube to solve this issue.
Screen volt adjustment requires expertise and job of professional so please call local tv repairman to help you.

My standby/temp light is blinking and my lamp light is blinking. tv is about two years old. Just started happening out of the blue. It will come on for a few minutes. I have three dogs and it gets dusty...

check the lamp if you havent changed it before that would be the easiest place to start. if the lamp is popped you will see glass pieces rolling around in the lamp.

Picture & sound go on & off every sec, red light blinks 5 times

helloFive blinks - AKB circuit (automatic kine bias), the timer/standby indicator blinks for about 30 seconds then goes to the self-diagnosis function. Something is wrong with the video. Check video out, Q705, 732, 761 and other components on the C board, also check Q218, 219, 220 on the A board. In addition, unit could be in IK blanking, try turning up screen slightly.

Turn on the TV and only Timer light is on , no sound & picture

after holding down the menu and device the led will blink a two digit error code such as 3 blinks pause then 4 blinks then repeat that sequence a couple of times. Need that blink code to help let you know whats going on. The 34 code means lamp abnormality which translates to the power Pwb capacitors have most likely failed.

Sony 57 inch WEGA Projection TV

Hi, this is a very common failure, you need to replace 2 IC chips on your power supply board, marked on the top of the IC`s is this number: MCZ3001D you can purchase them here if you are very proficient at soldering & un-soldering, and the board has to come out of the tv to do this, you might want to call a tv man for this one, but it will fix your set, happy holidays, BMW Rider

Set powers off seconds after power on

* Eight blinks - Problem with the audio (AUDIO), unit goes to standby and blinks the self-diagnosis code. Check IC406 audio amp, PS401, and 402. On some newer models of Sony TV sets, this code means that T8005 is defective on the D board. That would be the fly back transformer and the horizontal output transistor.

Tv does not turn on

Most likly not Im sorry to say! This is a common problem in the sweep power supply or the main power supply. If you have the ability to trouble shoot the power supply with a multimeter I will send you the directions, but you must understand the terms and what is what first.. If you do then by all means get back to me. If you do not know how to troubleshoot solidstate electronics, please do yourself a favor, seek out a pro to assist you, as there are no user serviceable parts inside these sets. good Luck Please do not forget to rate this thread
