Question about Washing Machines

1 Answer

Barbara Ferraro I would like to tell yoy yhat Jasco Appliance was recomended to fix a problem we had with our washer walking on high speed after having it for seven months. The service man was useless I would not pay the bill they send you or recomend them any more. he just stood and looked at it and said go and buy some rubber stoppers and have a Grandchild crawl behind and place it under the feet. I see no reason for you to pay him for this visit. Barbara FERRARO 95 West Squae Drive Richmond VA. 23238 804 784-5377

Speedometer doesn't work every time the instrument cluster light is on. I tried covering up the sensor with no avail

Its a connection problem. Also the sensor system in you blazer could be worn out. Too expensive to fix. Get a Garmen GPS. It tells you your current speed and all that other good stuff. Highly recomend.

Speedometer not working

Hi Anonymous, before I spent any money I would check fuses, then try and retrieve any trouble codes that may have been generated. I don't know if the speed sensor works the same way as the one in big twins do, but removing and cleaning the end of it can't hurt and it only takes a minute and it's a recomended procedure fix for the big bikes. Here are a couple of sites that can walk you through it:

The water is not spinning out. the water is pouring out onto the floor when the spin cycle starts. not leaking when in wash cycle

You may have a pump that's bad. When it goes into spin cycle it assumes the water will be drained within a period of time before it goes into high speed spin. If it goes into high speed spin and the pump hasn't done it's job then you will get a bad mess, flood, water all over.

Maytag Neptune front load washer, model MAH8700AWW, 4-5 years old. At ant low or high speed spin cycle, the drum bangs badly regardless of load size. Why & what can be done to fix this?

Your bearing are broken or wearing out.
Replace the bearings.

This requires taking the whole machine apart and requires special tools.
I would call a appliance repair company in your area.
It can be very expensive to fix.

Maytag machines are not my favorite.

Will only spin slow speed will not spin at high speed. Everything else seems to be working fine.

Make certain that your selected wash cycle designates a higher spin speed. If so, then you may have an issue with the motor or motor control board. Contact an appliance service company.

Kenmore washer-top loader-replacing water pump

Had to pry it off. It took about 45 minutes to get it to come off. The reason it was so hard to get it off was that the shaft of the motor was pitted and rusted some. The new pump then wouldn't easily slide onto the shaft, so we had to use a file and sandpaper to make the shaft smooth. We then used WD-40 on the shaft and it went on rather easily, but was still plenty snug. We put the clips back on, the hoses back on and bingo, we fixed it and saved about $150.00. Neither myself or my husband had ever attempted to fix a washer or any large appliance before. Times are hard and we decided to try it on our own and were happy we did. No more leaking at all. It was a "high five" moment!!! Barbara Giles

Kenmore washer Model #16852 make high pitch sound while spinning.

Is the high pitched sound that you hear during the spin cycle or just all the time during the wash? If it's during the spin cycle it's probably your transmission and the only way to fix it is to replace the transmission. It's only going to get worse with time and soon enough it will just seize up on you and nothing will work. A transmission for a Kenmore runs anywhere between 150 to 250 dollars. 150 if you can find a refurbished one. You can find them at any appliance repair shop. Kenmore transmissions are fairly common as it's a big name. I hope this helps you and if you have any other questions or need help with installing it let me know. I can give you an easy step by step walk through on how to install it. It doesn't take too long. Good luck to you.
