i just spoke with the technician.. he said that my video out got fried.. he managed to bring the video back but cant do anything about the sound.. his advice is to use a HDMI cable.. he said that the video and audio will work just fine with the samsung HDTV.. im having trouble getting a 2nd opinion on my ps3 coz there arent many techies who have the know-how on how to fix a ps3 in philippines.. the only thing im hoping for now is the HDMI cable.. will i be able to use my ps3 on my samsung using the HDMI cable w/o worries?

Does your ps3 power up but no video?

Have you tried doing a video check and reset with the standard def cable that came with the PS3?

i wouldnt see why not, you will have to still use the origional video cable though to get into settings for the ps3 to "switch" it to the connected hdmi interface. You will also have to tell the ps3 to output it's audio through the hdmi if your sound isnt working properly through the rca outputs. Or If you have a stereo with digital optical input, you may be able to use that for sound

I have a HDMI problem with my PS3. I have it

Try entering Recovery Mode and choose "Restore Default Settings".

If that doesn't help, you may have an HDMI port failure - which will require returning the unit to Sony or sending it to a third-party PS3 repair shop.

What you need to do is use a different tv or scart/av cable first, go to settings and reduce the resolution its because the tv cannot handle such a high res, if this dosent work, please post back, Regards
