CD Drive on Presario V2135US

Check the jumper settings in the back of the drive, by the power cable. Make sure your cd/dvd drive is set to SLAVE, with your primary harddrive as MASTER. Check BIOS settings, specifically your boot order, choose which drive you want to load first (usually HD 0), save and exit.
That's just the basics, though.
Another possibility is that you might just have a paperweight ;)
If so, try another drive.

Sounds like the CD-Rom drive is junk. Try swapping it out with another to see if the CMOS can recognize any CD-ROM drive.

error when opening dvd rom

May be the jumper setting is not correct and is not matching with ur harddisk.There is a diagram on the CD drive or the harddisk.try setting it accordingly.

The clicking noise from the hard disk indicats that you have a intermitten faulty disk and therefore the computer sometimes boots up. If you manage to get the computer to boot, I would advise you to backup or copy your data. If you can't get the computer to boot up then the hard drive is dead.
You do not need to buy a new computer, just buy a new hard drive, replace the faulty drive and install your Windows operating system, all your device drivers (eg. audio, video, LAN etc.) and all your programs. You or a friend have a few hours of work.

this is the connector problem, the point where rom attaches with the motherboard , take it to the technician

At start up of computer start tapping the f-2 key until you open the bios.In the bios change your drive order so that the computer boots first to CD-rom.

somthing thats worth trying is going into my computer, right click on the cdrom drive and click eject if it works that way then its software thats stopping it from ejecting, if it still dont work take a paperclip and push it in the small hole in the cdrom drive and it will pop out its only a temporary thing but it works to get the cd out..
