Danby Countertop Dishwasher Spray Arm not turning

Most of the solutions listed here did not help much. I recently had this problem and the solution for me was very simple but difficult to see at first. The spray arm turns only because of water being ejected horizontally in a little propulsion system from the end of the arms, not because of any motor. It turns out the little holes where the water jets come from that twirl the arms can get clogged. In my case it was a few pieces of food matter that had become tightly lodged in the holes somehow, preventing the water jets from coming out. Check these holes for food blocking them and then remount the arm and try it. Worked great for me.

I turned on my Danby countertop dishwasher without water! and now it does not work at all. Someone help me please, how can i fix it!!!

unless it ran for quite a while there should be no damage. plug it into the water, add a few cups of water to the water to fill the sump and prime the pump and turn it on it should work then.

Our danby at home shuts itself off when there is no water so I'm assuming thats what you are seeing.

Danby countertop dishwasher

Inside on the back of the tub, there should be a grate with screws that come out. Check for obstructions around the pump area. There may be food debris settling in the sump pump area

Danby DDW396 Spray Arm

The spray arm is controlled by the force of the water. There is no motor running the spray arm. If water is not getting to the spray arm, then it won't spin. It may be plugged with detergent etc. Just a note re. detergent. You shouldn't use hard or caked detergents.
