Question about Sony Playstation 3 (PS3) Console

1 Answer

Blank Screen The screen goes black whenever I try and play Assassins Creed, it will show the beginning screen but when I press start it just goes blank.  I took one game back and got another one but it still has the same problem.  Every other game works perfectly fine, and so do movies. I took the game to my brothers and it loads perfectly fine on his PS3.  I have hooked up to a 1080i tv, and I am using the a hdmi cable.  Is there any way I can fix this problem because I really enjoy the game?

Re: Blank Screen

It may be a resolution setting issue...the game may be outputting in a resolution that your tv doesnt support. Try going to your video settings and knocking the resolution back to 720p for your HDMI settings under video, select your ouptut, and uncheck the boxes next to the types above 720p. Also make sure you have latest software update for ps3.

Save file corrupt when started playing my game

Once a file is corrupt it cannot be saved. (I have dealt with numerous Fallout and Skyrim corrupt saves on Ps3 if I could have saved them I would) Assassins creed black flag is known to have some problems with corrupts but i thought that they were patched (check to see if its up to date)

Since i got assassins creed my ps3 was freezing a lot

Oh dear, i'm afraid to say you've got one of the 'fatal' error codes. The error you're encountering means there is a major problem with the blu-ray drive (you're PS3 is pretty much shot)...sad.gif

The only thing you can do is ring Sony's tech support and arrange for a replacement console. If you are still under their one year warranty, you will get a replacement console free of charge

or if your console still works just dont play that game
if it keeps freezeing its becuse of the blu-ray driver :( you would need to try setting it to factory def's or if that does'nt work try rolling back the firmware upgrades........or just buy a xbox 360..

Try holding down the power button. if that doesnt work unplug it for a minute and try again. if that doesnt work either its probably the game.

No picture

This is almost identical to what happened to my system just before it gave me the red rings. I had to return my system. There is general hardware failure. The last lvl in assassins creed kept dropping me thought the map then i would get a checkerboard of purple and black squares all over my screen.

If you have a warranty i would return it to the store you bought it from and get a new one if not contact MS and see if they will cover it under there warranty. Since its a GPU failure i would think they would fix it for free but i cannot say for sure. They did extend there warranty on overheating which sounds like what has happend to yours to three years.

Assassins creed PS3

Your HDTV only supports 1080i ? If thats the case make sure that under settings youve got only 1080i selected appart from 480p which is standard.

If thats not the case then tell me: Does sound play or just a blank screen and no sound??? (game crashes)

I just bought a ps3

Apparently the PS3 version of Assassin's Creed freezes the PS3 but this only happens at certain points in the game where a load happens. I don't think this is the case for you since you're saying that it doesn't even load the game.

Secondly, what do you have it connected to? SDTV or HDTV? Sometimes if the signal selected is not supported by the TV, it will not show anything.

Lastly, I would try to perform a system update by connected it to the Internet. This will download firmware 2.00 and might be able to help aleviate your issues.

Good luck. BTW, not a bad time to pick up a PS3. some good games coming next year :)

My assassins creed wont load????

If you all are still having this problem, this is what I had to do. There are 2 places where you have to go in to and delete the assassins creed game data. One is the normal save data, but there is also a place with the game data that is corrupted. If you go in and delete both the save data AND the game data, it should reload all of that the next time you put the disk in and allow you to play.
