You have a week breaker or a breaker that is to small you need a 40 amp breaker 20 on each side (two breakers locked into one) or worse you have a short in the dryer. If dryer runs for a little bit and then shuts down its the breaker.if it throws breaker as soon as you plug it in or start it then the short is in your dryer good luck

This dryer is fairly easy to repair.

The thermal fuse is probably blown. Look for air restrictions and a bad blower wheel to be the culprit. When that blower wheel starts slipping it causes the dryer to overheat.

My dryer doesn't dry. I checked all of the vents and they not clogged. I checked the vent coming out of the dryer itself and their is hardly any air coming out What should I do?

Try resetting the double pole breaker. Sometimes on a 2 pole circuit breaker one breaker will trip allowing the dryer to run but will not produce necessary heat to dry clothes in a timely manner.

My dryer is about 11 years old and when I dry my clothes it overheats and shuts the breaker off what wolud be the problem with the dryer should I looking to get a new one or is it worth fixing?

could be dry motor bearings, or possibly a partial shorted heating element to case ground, next time its running keep track of how warm the breaker gets while its drying, also possible the breaker could be weak from earlier tripouts and just needs replacement,if you can find someone with a clampmeter and monitor the current draw while its drying and see if it starts to draw excessive current at some point

Dryer running not heating clothes

You have a bad heater element. Pop the top and check it out
44f1253.jpgUse a putty knife to pop the top so you can access the heater mounted in the rear.

My Coin-operated Maytag cdryer does not dry clothes

One of the elements is bad OR one of the breakers may be tripped. Check the connections in the back of the dryer.

Go reset your circuit breaker. Even if it didn't pop out, reset it.

I have a Maytag Dryer modle #HDE 306 it does not want to dry clothes it tumbles but will only dry with cold air

I had the same thing happen & it was our 220 breaker, evedently it will still run but just not heat because of the 220. everything else runs on 110 so try that.

Dryer not drying clothes

your dryer is a 220 plug check the circuit breaker first
one 110 runs the heating element and the other 110 runs motor and dials
this is usually the cause of dryer malfunctions
heating elements are simple big mesh of curled metal wire like a toaster but more of it
it would take alot to knock out the heating element
check the dials too these could be sticking or worn dials you dont have to run dryer to check dials
