My Subzero Condenser fan runs constantly and the vacuum condenser light flashes- the coils where vacuumed , air blown and tested for cleanliness - IT IS Clean - I am assuming it is a sensor that is bad or dirty. The frig and freezer are perfect no cooling problems at all. Whay is the problem? PS The compressor does turn on and off as normal.

- Thanks for the reply, Dan. It is very ironic that I finally got a chance to fix my Sub Zero just now before I saw this reply. I guess my question need more detail, I figured the problem out myself by reading info all over the web. It was low on R-134a!!!!!! Bought the house in Jan 2005 with the frig in place and the vaccum condenser light was flashing since than. So I thought is was normal- indication a Vaccum seal condensing the air in the frig.. Go figure. any way.. Realized it was not normal after reading manual so I 1.Vaccummed the condenser coils. 2. Noticed that on the evaporator coils there was a bit of frost near the inlet. ( indicating a low charge) 3. Saw someones post stating that the Sub zero light flashes when the compressor is running longer than it should. 4. Noticed that the condensor coil unit had a date stamp of 2004 but the frig was made in 1999. So some work must have been done on the unit right before we bought the house. So I figure the charge was low based on this info and assuming the person who did the work did not charge the unit properly. I purchased a manifold gauge and sure enough the PSI was at zero while running when I should be between 5-10 psi , charged it a bit and now it is fine. The condensor fan shuts off when it should. I could not find info on the web easily since there were so may factors effecting the unit. Hope this helps someone else. Found the procedure on You tube, and only cost me $60 total with R134a and all. I used a treaded can tap with an adaptor I purchased at home depot to attached the the A/C manifold gauge. 1/4 male flare to 1/4 female Brass pipe.

If it is similar to mine at home (Model 550) the condensor fan is designed to run continuously, even when both the freezer and refrigerator are shut off. There is no control or switch in the fan circuit, so it just runs whenever the fridge is plugged in to the wall. It uses about 56 watts.
