And you can't find that first screw that undoes the whole thing? I am not familiar with this unit, but have found that most dryers magically open the same way. If you open the dryer door and look around where the dryer door seats, you "may" find 2 screws that hold the top down. Take those screws out and the top will lift up and then you need to look inside the front panel to find a couple of other screws which hold the whole can of worms together. Be aware, once you loosen the front panel, the drum rides on that panel so you need to support the drum when you remove that panel.
Hope this helps
You need to go through the top panel with the switches to access the bulb. First remove the screws that hold the top to the dryer. (There are a series of tabs with the screws.) Next, use a flat blade screw driver to push down and pull out the plastic tabs along top of the front panel. Pull the top of the front panel back. Now look for some plastic tubes. Stick a screw driver down into the machine and pry the tubes up at the bottom. Then you can access the light bulb and its socket.
Use a flat screwdriver and place it in the gap between the front panel and the top panel about 4" from the sides. Push in to unlock the clip holding the top panel to the front panel. There is one on each side. Lift the top up and remove the 2 screws holding the front panel on top. Now open the door and remove the 2 screws holding the front panel to the filter screen insert. Pull the whole panel out and disconnect the wire connection to the door switch. Lift the entire front panel up and out and you will have access to the blower wheel on the bottom left.
depending how old it is, some have a small door down at the bottom in the front. Others, you have to take the front off the dryer and you will be able to get to everything. Unplug it first before you try this. There may be at least 4-6 screws holding the front panel on.
This dryer is easy peasy to repair. Only 2 screws hold the element onto its mount. The limit and thermal fuse are also mounted on it. The control thermostat is mounted on the blower housing. Everything is accessed from the front. Get the front panel off by removing a few screws once you have raised that top. Then you can easily access that heater elementI looked up your model number and this dryer is an Amana type dryer Here is your manual
