Dishwasher didn't drain and the dishwasher doesn't turn on

Guru. Before we went away for a weekend vacation, we ran our dishwasher. We came home to find the dishwasher didn't drain, the dishwasher doesn't turn on/no longer has power, and that we had some food left in our garbage disposal. We now have standing water in the bottom of our dishwasher without any power. We checked the circuit breaker, but it wasn't tripped. We also checked the drain valve for anything that is causing it to trip.
Is there something else that might be tripping the power to the dishwasher or any other ideas causing the dishwasher to run?
