Question about Chaintech SA5700L GeForce FX 5700LE, (128 MB) Graphic Card

Beeping when running games

When I'm running any games (eg City of Heroes) I get this beeping which is obviously not suppose to happen. At first I thought it was the CPU, but when I'm not running any games, no beeping occurs. I checked the card and other than dust in the fan (which I clean up with a brush) nothing else is wrong with it that I could see.

Is this a precursor to a larger problem (as in the video card is about to die) or is there a very simple solution.

Re: Beeping when running games

What tempretures are your cpu and gpu running at during games? use speedfan for cpu and rivatuner for gpu. Both are free programs. sounds like an overheating warning to me :)

My ATI firepro V7800 makes continuous beeping noise. PC does not boot when I turn it on.....pls help!!!

1) Believe the continuous beeping you hear is a BIOS Beep Code, stating you have a graphics problem. Computer, not video card, is beeping.

2) Do you have the external 6-pin PCI-Express power cable plugged into the graphics card, from the Power Supply?

3) IF, your Power Supply does not have a 6-pin PCI-Express power cable, are you using TWO 4-pin Peripheral power cables, connected to a 6-pin PCI-Express adapter power cable?

To wit;

6-pin PCI-Express power cable example, and also showing a 6-pin PCI-Express adapter power cable on the right,

Example of a 4-pin Peripheral power cable,
(Misnomered by many as a 'Molex' power cable. Molex was the first company to make that type of connector. The name stuck, kind of like calling an adjustable open-end wrench a Crescent wrench),

Note the color code of the wires used in a 4-pin Peripheral power cable, and a 6-pin PCI-Express power cable.

Red = 5 Volt wire
Yellow = 12 Volt wire
(All are DC Voltage)
Black = Ground wire. (ALL Black wires are Ground wires)

The 4-pin Peripheral power cable has ONE Yellow 12 Volt wire.
The 6-pin PCI-Express power cable has TWO Yellow 12 Volt wires.

The most power that a PCI-Express x16 expansion slot can deliver, is 75 Watts.

"This cable is used to provide extra 12 volt power to PCI Express expansion cards. PCI Express motherboard slots can provide a maximum of 75 watts."

"The older 6 pin version officially provides a maximum of 75 watts (although unofficially it can usually provide much more)"

The ATI FirePro V7800 graphics card requires 150 Watts by itself.

The PCI-Express x16 expansion slot CANNOT deliver the recommended power (Wattage) needed, therefore an external power cable capable of delivering 75 Watts is needed.

What happens if you just use ONE 4-pin Peripheral power cable, in a 6-pin PCI-Express adapter power cable?

The PCI-Express x16 expansion slot contact pins -> BURN

The gold plated contact pins on the bottom of the graphics card -

The connection on the graphics card for the 6-pin PCI-Express power cable - BURNS

The contact pins in the 6-pin PCI-Express adapter power cable -

If it is too bad, and cannot be remedied by cleaning, the motherboard is TOAST, and so is the graphics card.

How do i fix this?

Check the RAM first and also check the BIOS is set up correctly. The beeping is an error code and comes from your Motherboard not your graphics card.For help with the error (beep) code go to the motherboard manufacturers website and download and read the manual. The error codes may be on the website somewhere else.

I have a quicksilver throttle control side mount and when the water hit the side of the boat an alarm whent off it happened 2-3 times,than i know keeps beeping it will not stop,how can i stop this and...

from what i have learned... (i have the same problem), is that it will beep for 2 reasons that i know of, water or oil. check your waterflow out of the motor, it should be ripping right out with good force. If not, your looking at a cooling problem. Check the impeller, its located in the lower unit of the motor, have you run the engine out of water? or even tuned the engine over quite a bit out of water? if so replace the impeller asap! If its not the cooling its an oil problem. In a lot of cases its an oil sensor, if so replace it fairly cheaply, or it could be that the injection system isnt working properly... this is an expensive fix the engine has to be completely broken down, what i did was just syphon the oil out of the reservoir, and mixed the oil into the fuel! If it comes down to it just mix it 50:1. that way you dont ruin your engine, as far as the beeping, it wont stop it unless its that stupid sensor, i guess just unplug it?

I hear beeping tone in my cpu when i plug it

When the computer makes those funny sound via the system speaker, it's not doing it because it wants to be heard. The computer is trying to talk to the operator/technician and tell them what's wrong.

So here are some codes to give you an idea of what might be wrong with your PC.

Beep Code: Description of Problem: No Beeps Short, No power, Bad CPU/MB, Loose Peripherals One Beep Everything is normal and Computer POSTed fine Two Beeps POST/CMOS Error One Long Beep, One Short Beep Motherboard Problem One Long Beep, Two Short Beeps Video Problem One Long Beep, Three Short Beeps Video Problem Three Long Beeps Keyboard Error Repeated Long Beeps Memory Error Continuous Hi-Lo Beeps CPU Overheating

Reboots and crashes

A few things you can try:
1. If the sound card Creative SoundBlaster Audigy is an add-on card and your mb has a built-in soundcard, perhaps you have to disable it in the CMOS/BIOS and not only in Device Manager;
2. Verify that there are no IRQ conflicts or sharing between the Creative SoundBlaster Audigy and the GeForce 6200. Alternately, you can try switching the soundcard to another slot;
3. Verify that the mb allocates IRQ 5 for the sound card in the CMOS/BIOS.
4. It might be worth your while also to upgrade your PSU from 250 to something higher (even a 500 probably).

Hope this be of some help/idea. Post back how things turned up or should you need additional information.

Good luck and kind regards.

Texture malfunction?

You said these didn't fix the problems for "very long," so it sounds like something might be overheating. It could be the card, or possibly your monitor. I would download a program to run diagnostics on the card to specifically check the temperature of the card itself. Perhaps the fan/heatsink needs to be refitted or a better cooling solution for the card.
