    had exactly the sma problem as you,tried all the suggested fixes but with no luck.contacted samsung told them about the issue and that others were havin same prob. my monitor came with a 3 year warranty still had 6 months left they have sent and i have recieved a replacement monitor. i believe that they know there is an issue with a chip in the monitor and they are just replacing like for like.

    same problem, unplugging or letting windows boot up first before plugging in monitor only works for a while then monitor errors out again

    Yes, I have the same problem, when restarting the PC or changing the user
    Sometimes It happens randomly,just whe typing. The only way I have got is to unplug the voltage cord and wait for 5-10 minutes.
    Unfortunately, the problem started just after the warranty period expiring

    I have the same problem. I have done a lot of things like disconnect, connect the signal cable, reboot the PC, but that does not help.

    Anybody know how to solve this?

    Yep, one of my monitors did the same thing, "Not Optimal Resolution" box on a black screen. just outside the 3 year warranty period. Sounds like there is no cure except replacement.

    Exactly the same problem!!

    Also just out of the warranty period, sods law!

    I have tried unplugging and restarting etc, works for a bit but problem soon comes back.

Same here. The unplug/inplug of the monitor seems to be the workaround. For now, I boot up Windows with the 913 unplugged and connect it after a couple of minutes when Windows has booted up. As mentioned before, this bug only happened to me after shifting to a PCIe card, Nvidia 6600 LE driver.

It is now the second time I have this problem. First time was still in warranty and they (Samsung) changed everything inside the monitor (reparation note said: assis chassis), so the only thing they left on it was the plastic.
Now I ain't lucky anymore because no more warranty. I think I should consider a new monitor.

Laptop screen keeps flickering

Changing the refresh rate might help.

Right click on the screen. In the box that comes up select Graphic Properties. In the window that comes up click information. Box that comes up select monitor tab. Will have a list of display sizes and refresh rates that are supported by your monitor. Once you have that information you can make changes.

FYI: Acer says max resolution 1920 X 1080 with 75 HZ refresh rate.

Also if you have a tube light or speaker system close to the monitor then try moving it further away.

Monitor gives error when i change resolution

The native resolution of this monitor is 1280x1024 @60Hz, if you set your PC video resolution higher than the monitor can support, you will get an FORMAT NOT SUPPORTED or something like that.
Are you trying to get higher resolution?

Why does the monitor say input not support on my screen, and it keeps moving all around my screen. Please advise

Your computer's videocard is set to resolution/refresh rate that your monitor does not support. Turn on the computer and keep pressing F8 until the windows boot menu appear on the screen. Use arrow keys to choose VGA mode. You will get bigger than usual icons on the screen. Use Display properties from Control Panel to set the proper resolution.

Floating box telling me to adjust to recommended screen resolution which is correct, can't get rid of floating box on a blank screen

restart the computer immediatly press f 8 and press frequently f 8 untill menu appears then highlight on "enable vga mode" and press enter your problem will be solved

Every time I turn on my computer, the screen shows a box saying not optimun mode reccomended mode blah blah... plz help me solve this!

To fix this you should boot into safe mode and lower your display resolution and then after rebooting into normal mode set it to the LCD's correct native resolution and all should be fine.

After restarting for an automatic update my desktop was in a "default" arrangement and the resolution was changed. I attempted to change it back but must have set it to the wrong res, cus the screen went...

Yes video drivers need to be updated then go back where you went to change the resolution and click keep this resolution I think you mistakenly told not to accept it this happens.

Monitor issue

Just sounds like the monitor cable is loose or bad or the input mode on the monitor is set wrong - set it to auto or step through the modes.

Kathryn, In the lower left, under the screen there is a row of buttons... One is labled "AUTO" have you tried pressing auto and if so does anything happen?? If not try pressing "MENU" first and then "AUTO"... What we are attempting to do is to get the monitor to accept the current settings so we can get the screen up and then deal with changing the resolution... In a Windows operating system the resolution is changed by going to "START" - "SETTINGS" - "CONTROL PANEL" - "DISPLAY" and in that window click on the "SETTINGS" tab and reset your resolution. This one might take some better communication that emails - because it would be easier to know in real-time how the monitor is reacting as you input various things...
