Re: Model LD1403W1

Are you using a rinse aid like Jet Dry??  All dishwasher manufacturers now require that you use rinse aid for drying dishes at the end of the cycle.

Dishwasher washes dishes but does not dry even though that display shows dry icon

First ,Check for a water puddle on the bottom of the dishwasher .If you have water there, you more than likely have a plugged drain or drain hose, or bad drain pump (less likely) If no water is there see if the dishes are hot after a cycle. If they are not you could have a bad heater (that circular thing on the bottom of the dishwasher) other problems could be the timer or computer Depending on the model brand and age of the dishwasher .One last thing there is a vent to let moisture escape that could be bad but then you would have hot wet dishes

The dishwasher dose not get hot at all and when it has finished washing every thing is still wet

  • Well, the dishes inside the dishwasher will still be wet unless you use a dry cycle at the end of the washing cycle. Not all dishwashers have this option. Even though mine does I rarely use it as the dishes will dry on their own in two hours.Saves a little money. Even when washing on a normal cycle the dishwasher itself should not get hot. It may blow a little steam out the front vent. Hope this helps.

Just got a new Bosch dishwasher (forget which model). After the dishwashing cycle has ended (even long after), the dishwasher and dishes are still wet. Was this an installation problem? Thanks

Hi -
I can't see how any installation problem would cause this - if the dishes are still wet at the end of the cycle, you'll probably find the water isn't heating during the wash cycle. The dishwasher uses steam to heat the washing compartment and dry the dishes. It would appear that the dishwasher isn't heating water internally.
Even if the washer was accidentally connected to the cold water supply ** (see note), this shouldn't happen as regardless of the water supply temperature, the washer should still heat the water to the correct temperature internally.
** UK dishwashers should be connected to the cold water supply. For US installations, dishwashers are commonly connected to the hot water supply. For other locations, please consult your installation instructions.
I suggest you start a regular wash cycle and leave it to run for 10-15 minutes. Then open the door and test the temperature of the water in the base of the washer by hand. The water should be hot and there should be steam present in the washer when you open the door.
If the water is cold or only warm, the water isn't being heated internally or isn't heating to the correct temperature, in which case you should contact the retailer or Bosch Service immediately for a replacement. Do not accept an offer of repair on a brand new washer!
Additionally, do not attempt to repair the dishwasher yourself when under warrantly as this will invalidate the warranty.
Hope this helps. If you need further assistance, please let me know your location and the model number of the washer. This should be laser-etched into the top of the door if you can't find it on any of your paperwork.
Regards, BElectric

USE JET DRY and clean the system every once in awhile by running it through a cycle with no dishes and use washer cleaner for that model.

My new Kenmore Elite panel ready dishwasher leaves wet

You need only enough space so the door does not rub when opened. If the unit is too far back under the cabinet the countertop (if wood) can be damaged by the exhausting moisture. The dry feature on the newer models is just as you describe. The moisture from the hotter dishes evaporates and is condensed on the cooler walls and door of the wash tub. Dry dishes wet tub is normal.

Does not seem to reach the right temperature

what is your house wtr temp at the sink when you run water until it get hot? but none the less here is some suggestions turn your jet-dri to max, do not select the sani-wash or heated wash because if you house water is not at least 120* it will have issues and take and only choose normal or smart cyc, to assist the wet issues after turning the dial under the cap to max buy one of those hanging solid type of jet-dri baskets if you have a watersoftner you should only use 2 tsp per soap holding area you'll have one of those with slits on the side and the other without if you have turned up you waterheater to max and your house water is not 135* you have a faulty gas reg on the waterheater and either replace the reg or the wtrhtr Yes i know it costly but getting thing in proper order take time if not solve msg me through this site with the results thanks fixrguy.
