Dude, if you have all the current updates for your OS and applications, then you got a logic board issue. Especially if you you keep seeing the spinning beach ball of death or the dreaded white screen of death.
The iBook G4 is the poster child for logic board defects, because it has to do with the way the circuit boards were flowed. Apple won't fix this for the iBook G4. You got to do a big class action lawsuit like they did with the iBook G3 before they will replace the logic board.
Best bet is to sell this thing on e-bay as a non-working unit and get you a better laptop.

- If your broke as he.l, then look where your left palm rests on the keyboard, cause that is where the problem chip is. Press down on this area hard the next time you get the screen lock issue and see if anything happens.
There are folks on you tube who will show you how to place rubber bumpers on this chip so it makes contact with the board better. Opening up the iBook G4 is a bi..h though so make sure you got a lot of patience and the whole day. Also, get you an empty egg carton to hold all the screws your gonna have to remove.Nov 03, 2009
- This laptop model has known issues with the logic board, but those bastards at Apple won't issue a recall unless you get enough people to do a class action lawsuit like they did with the iBook G3 model. Basically you paid a lot of money and now your laptop is in paper weight mode. Back up all your data and sell this thing on e-bay for parts/repair to recoup some of your losses.

- Your logic board is fu.k.d up. Get you a cheap parts/repair laptop off of e-bay or just by the motherboard by itself. Have fun installing, because the iBook models are real bit.h to open. They have a lot of diabolical screws of varying lengths and shapes to really stress you out.
