Problem for PC Laptops

a blue screen appears and says their was a problem. something about a page problem in a nonpaged area. something else pops up but is on screen for less than a second. It then powers down and turns back on. the screen now asks if I want to try to restart or put it into safe mode. I tried putting it into safe mode and deleted the last item downloaded (Internet explorer 8 for msn)
Rebooted with the same results. So I tried using the recovery cd that came with the computer. Now it still gives me the same screens, but when trying to get into safe mode, it tells me that to run the recovery disk again as it is missing files.
One repair shop said it sounds like the harddrive.
Any suggestions

If safe mode doesn't work, then you have no choice but to reinstall Windows.

Sounds to me like a windows problem or maybe a driver error. if it boots up in safe mode and it dont boot up in regular mode, one of the drivers that dont have to load in safe mode keeps crashing it. check all startup programs and disable as many as you can
