Do you have the vista installation/restore disk that came with your computer?
First you need to backup everything thats important just to be safe (fotos/douments etc)
Then you need to make sure that the pc is set to boot from the cd drive first. Easy way to find out is to just put the disk in the drive and restart pc.
If it just starts normally then you have to enter the bios to change the boot order. This is normally done by pressing "delete" or "F2" just as computer boots.
If it is set to boot from cd then a message will appear "press any key to boot fron cd/dvd" and u push any key and it will start from the cd/dvd.
You will then need to choose the partition/hard drive that u want to install on which will be "c"
Then you will need to put in your vista seriel thats on a sticker on the pc.
It will then take a while to instal vista.
Once installed you will need to go to the manufactures website to download the various drivers for your computer model. To be safe do this before hand and save them to cd. Dont forget to make sure u have your modem drivers handy too!! :) No worries though if you are using a router.
When your computer first turns on, look for a keyboard shortcut that says something like 'System Recovery (F11)'. Press the indicated button and that will begin the recovery process. If no shortcut is shown, try F11. If that doesn't work, you'll have to get a recovery cd from your computer manufacturer or use the above method.
