Question about Samsung MW1030WA Microwave Oven

1 Answer

Shuts off I replaced the fuse and the oven works fine when the outer cover is off. When I put the cover back on, it runs for a bit, the numbers on the front of the unit start to flutter a little and the whole thing shuts off. Is there something wrong with the ground or something. Like I said, it works fine without the cover on.

I don't think it is overheating because it works fine without the cover on. It is when the outer cover is put back on. I wondered if it was something with the ground? I looked at the wiring and haven't discovered anything. I received the oven from a friend because it was happening to them. I replaced the fuse and it seemed to work fine, but then it starting happening. The oven is like brand new.

Thanks for your inquiry regarding the issues you are experiencing with your microwave. What it sounds like is a possible short internally otherwise it might also be over heating.

How long have you owned your microwave for?

I have a GE model JE2160SF03 1.65 KW. It has no power, I have checked recepticle it has power. No didital display, nothing comes on.

Dead appliance, power on wall outlet.

Attempt this only if you are competent.

If your appliance has absolutely no functions at all, remove it from the mains supply, remove the case and see where the mains lead goes in to the appliance and follow the cable until you find the main fuse.
The usual cause of this fuse failure is the door switches are contaminated or sticking. Check the door switches before putting power back on to the appliance.
Hope this helps.

Where is the fuse. No power

Hello there:
In order to get to the fuse you will first need to remove the outer cover this is done by removing the 6 or 8 screws that are on the back panel the screws that are along the edge .
Next remove the screws that are on the sides there should be 2 or 3 per side.
Next the cover should slide to the rear about 1 inch then it should lift off from the rear and up once the cover is off look on the side and you will see a circuit board that has the fuse on it now simply remove the fuse and replace it with a new one
once the fuse has been replaced plug in the microwae and see if it now works and if so great just put the cover back on and you are in buisness again but if it still doesent work you may have a inverter problem this is the part that gives the microwave its power ok
Hope this has been very helpful for you
Best regards mike

Was microwaving a hotdog on a paper plate covered by another paper plate and the microwave just kind of went poof and now nothing lites up (display) and it wont work. I checked the breaker it is on and...

Yes there is.

Unplug the MW.
Uninstall from wall mount (if installed that way.).
Remove outer cover by removing the screws at back and (possibly) bottom sides.

Locate fuse. Replace only with an equivalent type and amperage.

You can test the MW without reinstalling or putting the outer covering back on.

Re: Sharp carousel microwave oven minute display light out

Hello there
To replace the light you will first have to remove the outer shell.
To do this
(1). Remove all of the screws on the back of the microwave that hold on the shell
(2) Remove the screws that are on the bottom.

(3) now the shell should slide off towards the back of the microvave.
Note : this may take a little bit of pressure to get it off ok?

(4) Once the cover is off look towards the fromt of the microwave and
you will see the bulb. now just replace the bulb and reinsert the cover and the screws and you are all done ok? pretty easy ha/
best regards michael

Can a novice do do I do it, step by step?

Disconnect from electricity. Remove screws holding outer casing and you will see the inline fuse. Make sure there is nothing that will cause the fuse to blow again. Always replace the outer cover before testing.

Microwave oven ACO1860AS

just aquired one just like it for free. they said no heat. took the outer cover off. about 12 screws. pull the main fuse and test it with a continuity tester.thats probably not it if the lights work. its either the magnatron (toshiba 2m248j(gs) or replacement part amana 8205460. mine was a coroded magnatron connection.unplugged it and pluged it back in. heats fine now. if you left it on with nothing in it for any length of time you blew the magnetron. universal magnatron replacements on ebay are $25. 4 screws and a 2 prong connector.
