Question about Nintendo DS Lite Console

After case swap, NDS powers on 2 seconds, screen flickers white, then goes out

I've seen similar issues here, but wanted to maybe post more details on my situation. I recently changed out the case on my NDS. I was careful with all wires, ribbon, etc... I got it all put back together, and when I went to turn it on, the power light went green for about 2 seconds, the bottom screen flickered white, then the unit powered off. I went through, checked all lcd/touchscreen connections, they are all secure. The unit worked fine prior to me changing the case. I tried opening it up again to see if I could find something. I took off the wifi module, and the power light stayed on, but no light on screens. I put the module back on, it did the original power flicker. Any ideas as to what else I could check? Thanks

Its very possible that you may have fried it, even if the wrong wire touches another wrong wire, it could fry. Im not too tech-savy for DS's, but Try putting it bck in the old case, see if it works, if it doesnt you know its fried.
ope this helps.
Have a good new year.

SCREEN FLICKERS WHITE 2 LIGHT BLUE

Sounds like a loose connection. Make sure your cables are secure. Try switching your INPUT selection on the remote to something else, for example, if you're watching cable, switch to HDMI, or A/V or something.

You can also try, if the input w/ the issues is HDMI, either swapping your cable for a new one, or swapping which HDMI input it's plugged into.

Good luck.

Hi Alfred Grace,

First of all, thank you for posting your question here at Fixya.

Based on the symptoms you've described, I don't believe that the backlights are already faulty. If backlights gone to malfunction, that are permanent, but in your case you've said that the TV power up fine for half an hour, this is an indication that the fault not came from the backlights but from the inverter boards. Inverter boards are the one giving high voltage to the backlight to light up, it has a built in protection circuit that will activate once there's a malfunction on the board to avoid further damaged because of high voltage output.
If you would like to fix it yourself, I would advice you to replace both the slave and master inverter board. I saw your board at shopjimmy.com. Click it HERE for the replacement. Replacing these boards are not technical, all you have to do is to unplug the unit overnight to drain any voltages from the power supply board, disconnect all connectors and then put-in the new boards. No soldering required. If just in case that the inverter boards are not the issue (I'm pretty confident that the power supply board is working fine), don't worry, the link I've provided accepted return, the fault is on the power supply board.

Hope I helped you.
Have a nice day!
Good luck and take care!

I have Sony STR-DH810 Hook up PS3 and Comcast HD Dvr with HDMI. I have Mitsubishi wd-65733 DLP TV. When I am playing my ps3 the screen keeps flickering black more and more until it goes completely black...

I had this problem. If not exact very similar. My video would look like snow for a brief moment, then go black. It was basically loosing sync I believe. I swapped HDMI cables with another component, which resolved the issue. So the issue was bad / cheap HDMI cables. I've since replaced the one, and look to buy slightly better cables. no need to break the bank, just don't go el cheapo. The ones that work great were only $9.99 at Fry's Electronics.

My iphone screen has gone completely white and cant do anything with it

You have one of 3 things going on here.
  1. Software related issue - If this is your case you're lucky! Just perform a hard reset and a restore by following the directions below.
Do a hard reset by holding down home and power buttons together until screen goes black. While holding down home plug the iPhone into your computer. iTunes should now prompt you to perform a restore.

2. Bad LCD - This would require warranty repair/replacement from Apple. If you're not covered you can google iPhone repair for a repair shop. If you want to do it yourself buy your parts on eBay. Not too hard of a repair if you are handy with electronics.
3. Bad Logic Board = Again if this were the issue you would have to use Apple repair under warranty or a 3rd party repair shop. You won't be able to figure out if it's a Bad LCD or Bad Logic board without swapping the LCD for a good one first.
Hope this helps,

I have similar problem. I would like to know how to solve it.

No, this is not a battery problem. This is not a top screen problem as well. This is a bottom lcd problem.

The top screen flickers when the bottom lcd is messed up and the bottom screen flickers when its the top lcds problem.

Follow the links below. You can purchase a bottom LCD for cheap and there are instructions on how to change it.
