I installed win XP on my amilo pi2512. Now a dvd takes aprox. 1 hour to write and when you play a dvd movie or cd it is so slow that the sound seems to drag. I think I might need another driver but the driver update programs do not scan "system devices".

- I am using nero. It's not only when I write a disc but also when I try to play either a movie dvd or a music cd. The sound and picture seem to "drag" or "stutter" for lack of a better word. The songs are very slow. I checked the files but they play fine when I play them directly from the hard drive.
what kind of burner did u use? try using nero then u can change the writing speed, but disk also have a limited writing speed so check while buying disk.

The backup copies of my DVD movies will not play fully on any DVD-Rom. SOB! This includes the DVD-Rom in my computer and any other DVD player. ----------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Now we have to make a crappy choice! Specific brand and model? Gimme a break!. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- The copied movie will play perfectly and in full on the DVD burner in my computer. But when played on the DVD-Rom or any DVD player, it starts hiccuping and then quits when it reaches about half way. I mean physically half way the DVD. If the recording is around 2.5GB, it plays great up to that point. Thinking my *single layer* burner was the problem or the power supply too weak, I got a brand new *external* dual layer LG burner, with the newfangled version of NERO and other fancy stuff. I get no error messages. At the end it says: 'Congratulations! Your copy was successful!' Playback? Carrumba! No change. Same ol' stuff. It will play perfectly on either burner, and that's it! :( On any other player, half way through my movie hiccups and quits. I did not give up though. I returned that burner and got another external LG burner, only to get the same results. I'm using some nondescript generic DVD+R 4X-8X stuff, and tried the HP DVD+R 16X discs. I'm told +R has better ''error correction''. The DVD-R discs appeared to be more problematic. Sometimes they would not even start. I've also even been advised to lower the burning speed. Yeah, right! 'Clear your cache and delete your cookies.' LOL!!! The choice is ''Automatic'', 8X or 4X The results are the same on any choice. Any suggestions will be greatly appreciated. faxmando@yahoo.com Thanks in advance. Merry Christmas!
