Cd component not working

When the system is turned on and cd selected a flashing, CD DISC-1 message comes on the screen and there is no effect by trying to change the disc selection. The tuner does work normally. I cannot get the tray to open. There is a clicking sound but no movement.

    Hello,

I believe there are five discs in the trays.

    Hi Dahaka,

I tried the paper clip to no avail. Finally, I took a screwdriver and popped off the facing to the cd holder.

There was a loose cd in the unit (outside the rack)and three others in place.

I removed all the discs, replaced the cover and the unit works fine. I don't know why the paper clip solution didn't work.

The holder is no worse for wear by taking off the cover and it works fine.

Thank you for your help. I hope my input helps someone else. I think the disc slipped when the unit was moved.

    Warmest regards,
    Bearo2

    Hi Dahaka,

The paper clip may not have worked because the loose disc had the unit jammed and therefore the only solution was to dismantle the cd unit and fix it.

Hi Bearo
Here you can find an online manual,
And here the specific troubleshot section.

When you say the tray dosent open, is there a CD inside, or is it empty?

Tom, what do you mean when you say the tuner dosent work normaly

Tom, about the Cd Tray, If your CDs arent jamed or are stucked, you can eaily open it,

You have to locate a small hole near the tray.
(First try it with the component off, and unpluged)
Then get a paperclip and start getting it into the hole, once when you find resistance push with the clip harder,
It should make your tray stick out completely (or some centimeters, for you to pull)
It your CDs arenet jamed or stucked, the clip will be the solution,

If you solve it remember to rate me, if you havent solved that problem yet, let me know and i will keep helping you.

No problem, remember we are here to help you, and thank you for rating this solution. I think maybe the Clip didnt work because you didnt press hard enough. But dont try it now that your component is working fine.
Im glad you solved your problem

Windows 7 laptop won't boot to OS , only has a black screen with a blinking cursor

Insert your system recovery disc to repair your startup.

1. Change your Bios to boot from disc:
When your computer powers on, hit F2 (on some computers, F8 on others). Use your arrow keys and move to the right to your BOOT option. Hit the down arrow until you select your CD/DVD drive. Look at the bottom of your screen, and it should say to change the option hit F7 or F8. Use the specified keys, and move your CD/DVD drive above your hard-drive. Save your settings.

2. Boot from your disc. Insert your system recovery disc and restart your computer. Let the recovery disc load. If the option comes up to hit any button to boot from CD/DVD, then hit any button. Once it loads, it should come to a spot where it wants your language. Select your language, then select the option "Startup Repair". Click on it, and let it repair the startup. If it automatically starts correcting your startup then great! If not, then select your operating system from the list and click the Repair Startup option. Restart your computer, and hopefully it will boot from your hard-drive correctly.

Hope this works.

P.S. If it continues to boot from your recovery disc, then using the same method in step 1, go to your bios, and move your CD/DVD drive below your hard-drive.

When i install cd it says error 6 on my clarion dxz465mp

Clarion Audio error codes:

Error Codes:

Error 1 Battery inside CD Changer needs to be replaced.

Error 2 CD error message. Mechanism has as eject problem or takes a long time to select CD.

Error 3 CD error message. The pick-up is out of focus during play mode due to scratches on the disc or contamination.

Error 4 Connection problem. Reconnect the data cable.

Error 5 CD error message. Could not read correct data due to CD ROM.

Error 6 CD error message. Could not read data from disc because it is upside-down.

Error 8 Tape Drive system defective. Eating tape or something wrong with the drive system.

Error 9 Weak RF. Try alternate frequency

Even though it says error 6 is an upside down cd, it just means the disc cant be read. usualy means the laser is dirty, out of adjustment, or not working.

No disc appears even though a disc is in it - correct side up

Either the CD player does not support the format of the CD or the reading lens insidemight be covered with dust. Use a CD lens cleaner to rectify this problem.

The laser is damaged/worn out. It would be cheaper to purchase a whole new unit, instead of repairing that one.
