  • This board don´t have the smaller conector imput.

Like you said is most likely a damaged board.

    Tanks for the help.

  • I tried another power supply but no luck.

  • After exchanging the cpu the board was good, it was the processor burned.

    Thanks for your help.

I always suggest this and many times I get yelled at, but I'm just trying to help...

Did you plug in both power cords? There are two, one is rectangular and one is a smaller square shaped connector.

If that's not it and you've tried pulling all the cards and devices (RAM, HDD, CD/DVD) then you most likely have a bad motherboard.

Good luck.

Sorry...you are right. I should have checked the manual before I suggested that. If you have another power supply you should try that before you give up.

New build with this mono and I'm not getting it to post, no beep. i do not have a chassis speaker plugged into the mobo. should i be hearing a beep if hooked up correctly? sorry, first build, complete

I don't know too much about this. Here are some suggestions:

You don't need a hard disk connected to get the system to POST.
It would be helpful to have a m/b or chassis speaker connected to help with diagnosing problems.
Have you connected up the 20/24 main power connector (I guess you have), but have you also connected up the separate CPU power connector (8 pin on this one I think) ?
Have you connected the power switch properly (or otherwise ensured that the PSU is working properly) ?
Have you made the proper stand-off arrangements for the m/b ? (some m/bs need either conducting or insulating stand-offs to isolate the m/b from the case except at the proper places - like by the connectors)
Have you checked your CMOS battery is in place ?
CPU PnP cap removed, and CPU inserted in the correct orientation ?
It's unlikely to be memory (it would beep - ensure your (internal) speaker is connected - you may need to connect the 'Chassis Speaker Header')...but try with only one DIMM inserted in A1 slot nearest the CPU. (I think your m/b has the option of a beep-on-boot feature)
Check all the jumpers are connected/NC as appropriate.
Does your case have a CASE OPEN warning feature ? (I guess that even if it does you have connected it appropriately because you have power).
I can't find a 'troubleshooting section in the ASRock manual, nor anything what beep codes (or lack thereof) mean.
Finally, if I have got this right you m/b has an 8-pin ATX/CPU connection socket, but the Silverstone PSU which comes with your case has only a 4 pin ATX/12V connector...ensure that you have connected the appropriate 4 pins !
Sorry I have just provided a bit of a random check list. You may have to (if you haven't already) just take it all apart and reassemble it to find that it works.
When you get it working, please let us know what the problem was/and how you fixed it.

Asrock ge pro-m2 whats the best spec i can upgrade to?

According to the downloadable manual on the manufacturer's web-site:

http://www.asrock.com/MB/manual.asp?Model=GE%20PRO-M2

the maximum RAM supported is 2GB, and it is a Socket 478 CPU interface.

Since you don't have the "GE PRO-HT" motherboard,
you cannot use a "hyper-threading" CPU.
So, you can use any non-hyper-threading Pentium/Celeron that has a Socket 478 interface.

Computer sounds like its on but no display

Hi,

Remove all plug-in cards including the memory and clean the contact points with a pencil eraser... Insert them back and try... You should hear 2 short beeps, which means Okey... Long beep means that there is a problem with the memory or one of the memory... Keep me posted if not solved...

Happy Fixya...

No beep,No Display on my monitor, only CPU heatsink fan is moving

have you thought about changing the battery on the motherboard, also checking that the fan on the cpu is seated properly with enough heatsink paste as both these issues will stop the pc from booting

Screen not showing anything

Some time the system will work due to insufficient power source this problem may occur replace SMPS and check the CPU heat by touching it. If it warm then the CPU is functioning. Else contact your nearest hardware vendor.

Hope this will solve your problem.
