Click the correct link of your computer, in the next page select dyour operating system that is windows vista, if there is no vista there then the driver for vista is not released by hp,if i am right there are drivers for 2nd and 3rd but not the first.
After selecting the operating system click next and select the link to driver-audio and click download
You need an operating system to be able to carry out the configuration.
Now, it is either you laptop has an in-built operating system known as Recovery Disk or you have it on a DVD CD.
To know if your system has a recovery disk, go to my computer, you will see a D: Drive name Recovery... .
To run the recovery disk, got to start menu, click all programs, look out for Backup and Recovery Manager, click it and follow instructions.
Or if you have your operating system on a DVD, insert it into your drive and restart your system. Once the system is restarted, your laptop would vibrate and you would see press any key to run from cd drive, press enter or space bar and setup will begin.
The above are the options you have to be able reconfigure your laptop.
And your NIC driver will be hopefully available in Software & Downloads after choosing the Windows 2003 operating system. -- if that OS is not present, try another OS and check the operating systems as they appear in that specific driver's supported list of operating systems and see if Windows Sevrver 2003 appears.
Well, you can install XP as long as you have a CD and your laptop has a COA with a key.
Hit delete, F2 or F10 to start the system in setup, change the order of boot devices to make the CD your primary boot device. Restart, boot into the CD and follow the prompts. After you complete your installation you can go to www.hp.com SUPPORT and DOWNLOADS and find whatever drivers you are missing. Take your time and you'll do fine.
