during dishwasher cycle soap dispenser won't open. at the end the soap tab is lying on the floor of the dishwasher.

Remove the door inner panel and check the dispenser door solenoid for free movement along with the latch mechanism. Water can enter through a leaking seal and corrode the interior of the solenoid causing sluggish or non-functioning of the latch. Change the solenoid if it seems sticky and can't be fixed by cleaning the bore and plunger (don't apply oil as it will gum up the operation after a while).
