all i can see is a black scree with lil gray dots

I have this same problem, after my screen was showing a green overlay, then just in dark shaded areas. The next day I turn the system on and have no video with exception to the little dots but I do have sound. I think its a bad video card. I switched cords and checked connections and alas..
