Question about Samsung SC-L300 8mm Analog Camcorder

Open Question

Can't watch my tapes!

When I load a tape, the unit closes and acts like it is going to start playing but then it immediately ejects. No matter what I do; pressing play or rewind, helps. It will not respond to any commands and just pops the tape back out. I have 15 years of tapes I am dying to watch with my family and am FRUSTRATED!

SOURCE: Tape Won't Load

something is blocking the mechanism and not letting it load or the mode switch is bad and the mechanism dosent know where it is. These camcorders are common for this type of problem and these days Im sorry to say that most places charge an arm and a leg just to look at them. good Luck

SOURCE: Not loading tape

This is the sensor. Not a cheap repair, but something you can live with as long as the camera is still working for you.

SOURCE: Eating Tape when rewinding in vcr mode

look for a tiny pinhole and insert a pin while powered up to reset the device. if no-go, then the take-up reel needs attention...needs possibly a new or well-cleaned-with-alcohol-swab rubber belt

SOURCE: Eject light comes on after I start playing the tape

ksmitheram,

I had the same problem with my camcorder just awhile ago. This can reflect a low battery. Try plugging in the camcorder for a couple of hours without using it. Then try recording or playing back the tape with it plugged in. Unplug it and check again. If this does not work you may have to replace the tape head.

SOURCE: Cannot play tape nor record on tape

This error is a mechanical malfunction, try this:

  1. Eject the tape.
  2. Set to OFF.
  3. Detach the battery.
  4. Reattach the battery.

Disc loading mechanism fault. Contact any service technician. The mechanism should be taken out from the set, for repair. If you wish to get some details; check the site linked here. Pull up older posts. http://electronicshelponline.blogspot.com/

How do I load the tape

I see your picture of a cassette player. Guess you are referring to that. (tapes also come in reel-to-reel, and 8-track). Just push the "EJECT" button (power may need to be applied to some units for the eject button to work). The tape slot will open. Insert tape with exposed tape on the "head" side of the opening, usually the heads are on the bottom of the slot.. You can't put it in any other way and have the door close. The "door" that opens has guides for you to slide the tape into. The side you want to listen to should face you. Either manually close the tape compartment or push the close button (depending on model). If the door doesn't close, you put it in upside down. Push play and enjoy.

Power went out while VHS video was playing. Unit will power on, but will not play or eject.

Going to have it opened up---likely the tape was loaded and got wrapped up on something inside the mechanism.

Tape ejects when put it in. Will not play record rewind etc. It just immediately ejects.

Check the timing of the gears. they tend to slip.
Find the loading motor. It should look like a big battery with a worm gear on the side. manually turn the gear backwards and forwards a few times. Hope this gets you watching tapes! GOOD LUCK!

Denon Dual Cassette Deck DRW-660 will not eject either tape. I put a tape in right side, played a bit, stopped, will not eject. I put another tape in left side, closed, cannot eject. Cannot eject either....

Some dual decks use a common drive belt. It may have become too slack (due to age) to drive mechanism. I am sure its time to change all belts in both decks. This will solve the problem

VCR repeatedly tries to play and eject when tape deck is empty

the tape carriage is probably stuck, or something stuck inside blocking the tape sensor.
feed a tape in and see if it does it "with" the tape too

hope this helps

Tape Ejects Immediately

There are normally 2 causes. One is some obstruction in the tape path. Please open the cover of the VCR and shake and see for foriegn objects. Nothing??? Then there is one more possibility - Belts are loose.. Check the Tape Loading motor belt.Is it slack? This can happen over time.Change the belt.

Playback & Ejection Problem

Hi, You usually get an EJECT TAPE when the camcorder has found an internal problem and either the videocassette or the camera itself has developed a problem. In you case, it looks like you tape has a problem. Daniel
