Re: hp 7410

I know this is kind of late, but I had the same problem and was able to fix it by unplugging the wireless card inside the printer. I posted a how-to with pictures on this blog. Check it out. I hope it works for you.

Re: hp 7410

That definitely worked for me as well. I turned off the wireless radio in the network settings and am now using it wired. Works perfectly.

Unit will not come on-power ok ac to dc adapter ok

Great job on checking the power from AC to DC adapter. Also, make sure to plug the printer straight to the power outlet in the wall, bypass any surge device or power strip. Unplug and replug the power adapter in the printer, make sure it's properly secured and in the right position in the slot. Press the power button if needed. If this doesn't help at all, I strongly suggest you contact Lexmark Technical Support to further investigate the problem. I hope I can assist you more on this matter.

Do i need a power cord to operate the 7410

The OfficeJet 7410 has a separate power cord and adapter (transformer) that has an output voltage of 31VDC @ 2420mA.

The original HP part number is 0950-4483 but they have a substitute part number of 0957-2145. It can be ordered from HP from this page:

HP Adapter 0957-2145

You may also be able to find one by either Googling the part numbers or if you have an eBay account search there. You may find a better deal.

Thanks for using Fixya. Please take a moment to rate this solution.

BTW, here is the main support page for your printer:

C4180 Won't Power On

Make sure the plug is all the way into the AC adapter. Then, you will need someone to verify the output of the AC adapter. You should have a 16VDC and a 32VDC output from the adapter. If that is good, you have an internal problem with the printer. If the output voltage(s) are missing you will need to replace the AC adapter.

Here are the specs:
  • Input voltage: AC 100 to 240 V ~ 1 A 50–60 Hz, grounded
  • Output voltage: DC 32 Vdc===940 mA, 16 V===625 mA
  • HP part# 0957-2146 Call 1-800-227-8164 for availability.
