KGST307HBS9 - Burner ignitor not clicking

I've had this range for about 5 years now, just started having a problem with the left front burner. When I try to light it, I don't hear the ignitor clicking, but gas is coming out. If I leave it in the light position for a few seconds it will eventually click and ignite. This problem is intermittent. Although it wasn't dirty, I cleaned around the ignitor and the problem still occurs. I'm assuming I need a Spark Switch/Harness Assembly, but don't know where this is located. Do you think this is the problem, and if so, how do I cahnge it out?

Re: KGST307HBS9 - Burner ignitor not clicking

There is a switching contactor that works in parallel with all of the switches. so if you want you can give that burner gas and use another burners switch. To fix you need to take of the front panel and ether replace the harnes

or fix it usually the spring like copper contacter is just streaches a little further than it should and is not making contact

I have a Kitchenaid superba gas range slide in, model #KGST307HBS9. The nob of one burner, only, the left rear, will initiate the electronic spark that will light burners. When that nob is turned to...

Pull out the bottom drawer and you will find the spark module. I strongly suspect it is weak. Here is a video that shows operation:
This one shows the module on the backside but I looke dup yours and it is below in the backside of the bottom drawer. Ok here is what i think The igniters could be dirty and I have a video showing how to check that plus another video to show how to remove those pesky switches on the top burners and spark module operation.

My whirlpool range ss630per-1 burners will ignite except of front right which give no ignitor sound at all, but the Rear Right works fine. any solutions?

Each burner control knob has a built-in switch that controls the igniter. It appears the front right burner switch in the knob is possibly defective. They are replaceable but it requires dis-assembly of the range front. Are all the igniters in a sequence? Have you tried turning the front right burner on while another burner has the igniter on. This may let you ignite the burner automatically. When you have another burner igniter clicking try turning on that burner. If the range has rectification igniters that will not work.

Top right burner on hotpoint gas range doesn't light

there is a spark ignition in the middle between the front and back for the left side and one on the right side. When it was cleaned i bet that the spark ignitor was slightly bent towards the front the gap is too big to fire the rear burner...the ignitor is very similar as the spark made in those push down lighters. so its safe to play around and adjust them as needed to make them work...Go ahead and take it apart and tinker with adjusting it...until you get both front and rear burners running again the way it was before.( peek at the otherside as a reference and try to make it match)
I hope this helps you out a little bit 8-)

One burner does not ignite when the others ignite

hi there,

the clicking sound is good, that means that the spark module is working and you have power to the stove. you may have a faulty gas valve or ignitor. most gas ranges have electrodes as ignitors. check the ingitor before you look at anything else.

Ignitor won't shut off

The Viking manual says that an ignitor that continues to try to light even after the burner has been lit indicates improper grounding, and that an electrician should be consulted.

Perhaps you could try to replace the ignitor, and see if that fixes the problem?

I have a similar age, 6-burner 36" rangetop.

Problem with getting burner to light.

All my ignitors spark when I turn one of them on. I'v been told it is normal. I had a problem before and the tech that replace the ignitor said the issues is with alignment. Try to rotate the burner a bit left or right and see if it fixes it.

Ignitor would not turn off on front left burner

Same problem with the ignitors on the burners myself.  But only when i turn on the left side burners do they continually spark.  Any one know what ignition module on this?  How does it prove flame?  To ground?  Might I have a bad ground causing it to not rectify the flame?
