Question about Zenith B25A02Z TV

Color Adjustments.... I'm working on the color adjustments for my parents television..(Zenith) Most of the time, the color and objects have a green hue to them.....I am looking for the standard settings for the television, so I can set them manually. Can you give me the suggested setting rates for each of the settings...(i.e. color, sharpness, contrast, etc.) The adustments are made on a line system, with a vertical bar that goes up and down the horizontal line, instead of being able to run the adjustments up and down by either an amount ( some tv's might say, color 50 contrast 30, etc) With the line system the way it is, you pretty much have to guesstimate......can you give me an idea where each of these should be set? Can you please help? Thanks!!!

Re: Color Adjustments....

Well it all depends on where the tv is located to, if it is in a room with little or no light( windows, lamps) you will want you brightness to be a lil lighter hince not makin the picture as dark, and vise versa for light rooms, u'll wanna turn the brightness down a lil bit to accomidate this room, as for the others i'd say a lil over 50% on them, thats how my office tv is set up, hope this helps, jason

My zenith television has black n white but should be color

old if it has a manual tuner there will be a fine tune adjustment.
It would be behind the channel selector knob or in some cases
very close. If the tv loses color try this first.
re-post if you need more info.

Color adjust without original remote cs-35303

Almost any Mitsubishi remote will work for standard adjustments--just that simple.

If issue is too much red, green or blue(not a good black and white picture) the controls for those adjustments are located inside the set on the board that plugs onto the end of the picture tube.

Let me know what your issue is and I will advise further.

1) I have a Sony KV-32FS13 that has a green tint in the picture. Does any oneknow how to access the service menu for this model? I tried other adjustments and I can't get rid of the annoying green...

Code 5 is "AKB error". AKB, or auto kine bias, is a cicuit that monitors the three color guns of the picture tube (red, green and blue) and tries to adjust them for proper color balance. If it can't, the picture is blanked (usually) and the timer/standby light blinks 5 times. When the color drives aren't balanced, you see a color tint in the picture like you're describing.

There might be a problem in the AKB circuit, or the picture tube may just be old enough that the AKB circuit has run out of adjustment range. If the tube is at fault, you should consider replacing the set. A new tube will cost nearly as much as a new 32-inch LCD TV, and you'll need to pay someone to install it and set it up. There are special tools required to perform the convergence which gets the color guns aligned with the face of the tube so they hit the right colors.

If you'd like to try tinkering with the service menu adjustments, this site explains how to access the menu and gives a list of settings.

Samsung txh1970 tv screen has green tint

I encountered the same problem with a color computer monitor several years ago. Everything went green. The repair techies told me that's a sign that the power supply is going bad. You will not be able to adjust the color. You will have to either fix it or replace it. Hope this isn't a common problem with this model Samsung TV.

Zenith Model SY2551S 1996 27" - Green Tint

The core problem with the green tint is the aging of the picture tube, and can be compensated a bit by using either the green drive control usually located on a printed circuit board on the neck of the picture tube or on the main chassis. There will be 3 main controls which will adjust the red and blue as well. If these controls are not present then you will need to get into the service menu and adjust it from there. Don't adjust anything else as you can make the set much worse. Also remember that in order to make these internal adjustments while watching a black and white picture (turn the color all the way down) you will have your hands and arms near live circuits that could shock you and cause injury to yourself as well as break parts inside the set when you pull back after being zapped (voice of experience here) Of course if you can do all this by the service menu then you won't even have to remove the back of the TV.

Dominant blue

Can you post to the party who has too much green how to adjust the video adjustments? They need to know so they can see if
its just a simple adjustment.
In your case, first turn the color level clear down to where you
have a black and white picture. As in the case of too much green,
question is if the picture is black and white or if there is a color
on the screen so its blue and white? I suspect it will be which
is typical when the guns start to fail. Likely the green and red
guns are weak in output. There are screen adjustments in the set that a tech can set up that may help some, but the only real fix is to replace the guns which is expensive and requires a complete allignment. All 3 guns need changing to get it back to spec and it is a good idea to replace the flyback for reliability. Get an estimate and likely you can replace the set for the same money.

Blueand dark when picture should be yellow and gold bright

Well there are many causes for this. In the back of your tv there are three different color projectors. One red, one green, one blue. One or more of them seems to be out of alignment. They can be adjusted but it is recommended to be done by a professional as there are transformers in the back near that area that create the high voltage current needed to run the color guns.

Color mostly green

Sounds like tyo me that the picture tube is getting soft on ya!!. Its a common factor that occours with all tvs but mostly with zenith. A service tech might be able for a small fee rejuvinate the picture tube but theres never a warrantee with this type repair. Its not something a user should attemp to do as theres hi voltage inside this set even on the tube socket after its ubplugged for awhile. Seek the advise of a repair pro to see how bad the tube is. Good Luck
