And when I check the properties, it shows some memory usage. Then I try to play them on the player and it says please wait.... then says no files. This is actually my daughters new christmas gift and she hasn't been able to use it because I can't figure it out. I have windows vista. Any suggestions?

Re: Delstar 1036 problem

If the MP3 Player is like I think it is, you need the software installed to transfer the files to the player, because it has to give each song a specific "code" that the player is able to see.   For the disc not installing look for the option to manually install the software (usually [Drive Letter]:setup.exe or something) in the user manual, and it "might" be a little more straightforward.  However, I am not sure if all of the software is compatible with Vista :( Sorry

I am having trouble downloading music to my Delstar DS 809 Portable Media Player. Please help as I am computer challenged.

Hey! Once you download music, you then transfer the music to your Delstar. I'm not sure whether or not it's allowed to post peer-to-peer (generally illegal) program's websites on this website. Therefore, let's say that you purchase your music from an online company such as Apple through iTunes or Rhapsody. After purchasing and downloading the music you want through iTunes or Rhapsody, you then are able to transfer the files onto your Delstar. You can either save the files to your Delstar (using iTunes) or going to the file's location in Windows Explorer and then moving them to your Delstar. This same method can be used with Peer-to-Peer programs. However, said such programs run the risk of a virus piggy-backing onto the music files and, consequently, onto your computer. Torrenting is another method as well. If you say that you are computer-challenged, your best and safest bet is to do it through iTunes. It will cost money, but it will be safe. Therefore, I have provided this link and video that explains how to utilize iTunes. Computer skills are not easily learned, and mistakes will occur along the way. Patience and research are always a great way of tackling a computing problem. I've noticed that, over time, my knowledge of computers has grown fantastically just from everyday use and research. Good luck!

Need to download ringtones to my sandisk and put on my cell phone

Download an application called "audacity" after you downlaod and install it, you will need to get a file called lame mp3 encoder. You can then open a file in audacity and crop out the portion of the song you need to use as a ringtone. when you export as an mp3 audacity will ask for the lame mp3 encoder, just open the file location where you installed the encoder.

here are detailed instructions:

  1. Go to the LAME download page. ( )
  2. Under "For Audacity on Windows", left-click on the link "" and save the zip folder to anywhere on your computer.
  3. When you have finished downloading the ZIP folder, unzip it and save the file lame_enc.dll that it contains to anywhere on your computer.
  4. The first time you use the "Export as MP3" command, Audacity will ask you where lame_enc.dll is saved.

That will get you a portion of the song, but depending on the phone you have will determine how you use that clip as a ringtone.

Hope this helps!

I have a PNY MICRO SD 2GB for my Samsung Messenger. When I put the Adapter into the computer it showed some files. One named My_Music. I put a CD in and downloaded the Cd onto the My_Music file. It showed...

Hi. Well the problem is that your songs probably aren't recognized as mp3 files. I have a SanDisk micro SD and I downloaded a CD onto on a program such as RealPlayer or Windows Media Player first. Secondly, I dragged the files from there onto my SD. Try this but if this doesn't work then take out your micro SD and format it to your phone. This will end up erasing all that you have on there and possibly require you to do it many times just as I had to do, t eventually mine did work perfectly. I hope this works.

Some songs downloaded on omnitech mp3 player won't play

Some of the Mp3 players require a particular directory structure.
If required, this directory structure is created automatically when you format the card in the player itself.
Make sure you take a backup before formatting the card as it will delete all data on the card.

After formatting, you may see few folders (unhide hidden files as well)
You need to transfer in one of these.
Also let me know how exactly transfer the songs if this does not resolve. If possible, also try giving few details.

How to download songs

If you have a standard usb plug-in then you should be able to drag and paste songs you already have. If you mean actually downloading songs then there is great software like "youtube to mp3" converters that can turn youtube movies or videos into mp3's that function on mp3 players or computer media players. Look on google for "youtube to mp3 converter" for the download file. Hope this helped.
