Wii Remote Syncing problem is one of the common problem of Nintendo Wii. You may check out the DIY Wii Fix Guide,
that explains step by step to fix the problem without any technical
knowledge. I hope this guide will solve your problem. It also gives

Thanks. This is the correct course of action. I have purchased another remote and it works fine, so definately a faulty controller. I will contact Nintendo shortly as Target (whom I purchased the package from) are absolutely useless when it comes to returning the controller.
My problem was finally fixed after numerous calls to Wii support centre. At first they tried to tell me that it was probably the batteries; I should be using top of the range etc. I run rechargables and have never had an issue with them, so new it wasn't this.
Anyway, to cut a long story short, after a few calls I finally got hold of someone who know what they were talkign about. They (over the phone) guided me through the fix.
The problem is caused by the Wii remote loosing orientation. This can be caused by rapid flicking (i.e. kids being silly) or the remotes being laid on their side or top for long periods and going to sleep in this position.
So to fix the problem I had to reboot and then I had to hold the remote like a can of coke and shake it up and down vigourously for about 20 seconds. Then I had to lay it flat, face down, in the palm of my hand and give it a good slap/whack (medium to hard force, don't be shy) on it's back.
Redo if necessary. This certainly fixed my two faulty ones. Store remotes lying on their backs when not is use, particularly if they are still awake. Never had a problem since.
Hope this helps (and perhaps saves someone $25).

You must have your wii remotes looked at by nintendo if the wii remoptes are still under warranty. They took care of my wii when it was not working right.

None of my Sports games respond to my remote. Everything was fine, but this morning the games fail to respond. The remote works fine as a pointer, I can select the games in Sports and also play Big Brain Academy, but I cannot play any sports games. The buttons all functions; A button; home button; orientation and position in gold and bowling, but there is nothing when swinging the controller around to hit, pitch or bowl.
I've tried to resync the controller, both using red buttons and also the on screen one. I've formatted the Wii memory and pulled the plug for a minute or two. I have also changed the sensativity to see if this made any difference, but no luck with any of it. New batteries of course, but no difference.
Very frustrating. Any help appreciated.

We have the exact same problem. It worked totally fine, and a few days after we got it the motion part doesn't work. All the buttons work fine, just not the motion part. I know it has nothing to do with our position, or the placement of the sensor or any of that stuff that people say to try because our other remote still works just fine. What the heck?
The problem with my wii is when we try to turn left or right on driving games it will not turn.Plus the pointer marker on the menu is upside down.
Have tried many things re sync everything.
