Question about Audio Players & Recorders

Open Question

Pioneer Rx1220 stero system

Trying to get the receiver only to work. It scans for stations but doesn't stop and I am not able to get any sound out of it.I made sure the two speakers I have hooked up are working and that they as far as I know are hooked up correctly.I am afraid I know very little about electronics.

SOURCE: no sound coming from subwoofer

Your receiver does not have a power amp to drive the speaker in the subwoofer while your other amp did. With this receiver you need to use a powered (active) subwoofer which has it's own power amp in it. You can either change out your subwoofer to a powered (active) subwoofer, or keep using your passive (unpowered) one and add a power amp between it and the receiver. The easiest way to tell a powered subwoofer is to see if has a place to plug it into the wall. If it does, it will most likely work in this situation.

SOURCE: I am trying to connect

On the rear of the receiver you will notice several AUDIO IN connections. Make sure that the AUDIO IN and the receiver's input selector match (for example, if you are connected to AUDIO IN for the VCR section, the input selector on the FRONT of the receiver should also be VCR). Also, make sure that the input selector you are using is set to "Digital Audio" or a digital audio enabled equivalent and NOT analog. Check all connections again to make sure you have not grounded any speaker wire. Check to see if "MUTE" is on TV or Receiver. Try another audio in source just to make sure the speakers are connected properly. If that works, you can pretty much decide that it's either the input selection is wrong or the audio source is not set to digital 9also check to see if PCM is enabled and try setting to "AUTO" if you have that function. If you have option on receiver for speakers A and B, make sure selection matches your wiring.

SOURCE: Onkyo 805 sub hook up problem

Looking at the back of the sr805, there is a second subwoofer output, this one is the preout. 4 rca jacks to the right of the non-preout subwooker. Moved it, and all works now.

SOURCE: Onkyo 805 sub hook up problem

I made the same mistake when i hooked my REL sub up to the back of the 805.

The problem is there are 2 connectors on the back of the amp that are labeled as sub out. Look very closely, you will see that there are 2 grouped RCA outs. The RCA out group you are looking for differentiated by groups of "little white dots" all the way to the far right on the back of the amp. Hope this helps.

SOURCE: Pioneer SX-750 Old School Need Help

Check the speaker wire. Sometimes it can just be loose in the terminals and cause distortion. I have had the problem before.

Cheers!

I have a Pioneer VSX D412 S receiver with my Pioneer surround sound system The system SUDDENLY STOPPED RECEIVING SOUND SIGNAL FROM MY HD TV

  1. Turn the TV and receiver off and back on. This is called "power cycling" the devices.
  2. Check the menu settings to make certain the TV is still sending a sound signal out to the receiver.
  3. Disconnect the cable, blow both ends out, reconnect, and see if the cable was partially disconnected or has dust or lint interfering with the connections.
  4. Change the cable for another cable that you know to be working.
  5. Use a different source for the TV: DVD, Cable, different channel, etc.
  6. Connect the receiver to another TV.

My kenwood home stero receiver radio dial is being scaned and will stop on no station and if it does stop you cant hear anything

There's probably an automatic seek or tune function actively looking for stations. Refer to the manual if you have it.

The phono works, but i get no sound when tuner on

This usually means that the tuner is not getting sufficient reception for the station you are trying to listen to.

Receivers come with cheap wire loop antennas try upgrading to a powered FM antenna available online or at your local Radio Shack.

Hope that helps

Sound Just Stopped Working

I have the same problem with my 49txi, and I called pioneer and a repair shop as well. Both told me that the 49txi has a known problem with over heating and that its boards unsolder themselves. I would have thought Pioneer would stand behind something this expensive, but that was the old Pioneer in the 80s, and the new Pioneer says we are on our own.

Tuner Omits No Sound - Onkyo TX-SR605 7.1 Channels Receiver

Make sure your receiver is hooked up to proper AM and FM antennae. Try switching to AM, scan stations. If you hear AM static and/or weak signals the problem could be antennas are not hooked up. FM has AFT which blocks out weak or noisey stations and you wont hear anything without ant.

The only fuse on you stero is for power it's a 6.3 amp 125 volt it'on the main board. I have the sam problem I found a resistor on the board that controls the power amps on the heat sink. A lab here charges 35 dollar bench charge and if you want them to fix it they will apply it to the job. I own the same model and i went to circuit city they had lot of different system on sell. So before i put that in to an old system i'll buy another one
