Question about Acer Aspire 3680 Laptop
I need to reset my BIOS primary master HDD password and I don't know how to do that or where to look for a service manual or anything to find the damned battery.
I have an Acer aspire 3000 who doesn't want to boot anymore. It seems that it's starting but nothing happens, not even a bit on the screen.
When I called Acer, they told me that there is out of warranty and I should call a number were I should pay for them to tell me how to do a "Power reset". Does anybody know how to do it?

Well ill have to beg a difference with you. this happened to me what you can do to reset and clear the password is to unplug the cmos battery and restart the computer without the battery and then bootdown and then reinstall the cmos battery and close it up and reboot and it will be cleared..
i searched for 12 hours straight until i found this

Unfortunately, there is no way to reset the HDD password.
The intention of an HDD password is that no one besides you have access to the data. It wouldn't make sense to be able to reset the password, so every thief would get the data.
If the computer is still under warranty, you may get a replacement drive. The locked drive is lost.
