The ram banks are usually located behind a small removable panel on bottom of latop.

There are two banks on your model so you will need to see if one is empty if you are
wanting to upgrade by adding extra ram.

To remove just pull apart the retaining tabs at the side of the stick and it should pop up to a 45 degree angle. Just slide it out and replace in the same maner and push down till the clips click into place.
Remember to remove the battery before doing this though :)

Your laptop can take a maximum of 2X1GB stick of ddr400 (pc3200).

Had a quick scan thru your manual

    http://www.averatec.com/docs/5400_Series...

and no mention of ram location so if its not on the bottom then it will be located under the keyboard.

Can I add more RAM to my Averatec All-In=One A2?

Hey Nella Coffey

Unfortunately, more RAM cannot be installed due the limit of Slots available. However, you may be able to upgrade the current RAM modules and replace them. It appears it has 2048mb (2GB) of RAM which is possible split into two 1GB sticks. You "may" be able to upgrade to 4GB (split into two 2GB sticks). This is the current set up for the computer: 2048MB (4096MB max) SDRAM ' Memory Slots available for Upgrade: 0 ' Maximum RAM per available slot: 2048MB

Good Luck

Adding ram to averatec 3715-EH1 laptop

Hi there.
Its fairly easy to upgrade the system memory on a laptop, if you turn the laptop upside down there should be a panel with a couple of screws, like this >>>>>>>

Take the ram out and take it with you when you go to purchase your new ram, at least then you are making sure you getting the correct ram modules.

Good luck and thanks for choosing FixYa!!

If your laptop has an AMI bios, 3 short beeps indicates a problem with your RAM. Unplug the laptop, flip it over and remove the battery. The RAM is located under the panel with the Microsoft Proof of License sticker. Try reseating your memory and see if that helps. If you need to replace your RAM, it takes DDR333 SODIMM (512Mb is running about 30USD)
