Question about Zenith DVC2200 DVD Player

2 Answers

Password Hello, We recently purchased a Zenith DVC2200 DVD player at a garage sale, it had no remote, so we purchased a GE Universal remote that works just fine for the DVD player. However, we tried to play a movie the other night and it was requesting a password as the former owners put a block on anything higher than 7. I have tried the instructions listed on page 33 of the manual, but when I try to arrow to the right from the Password option listed on the menu to get to the Clear option, it asks for a password. I try to enter the 6-digit password (210499) but it is not letting me type in the 6-digit number, it only accepts the first 4-digits. Also, per the instructions, it states to use D/E/F/G on a variety of pages, and I am guessing that this is the directional arrows, D corresponding to the upper arrow on the remote, E = right, F = down, and G = left. Do you have any other suggestions?? Or is there something I am not doing correctly?? And did I guess the directional pad correctly?? Thank you for any assistance you can provide in this matter. Sincerely, DeAnne

We got the 6-digit password from the online user manual that Fixya has posted for this model dvd player, which is also where I found the info pertaining to the D/E/F/G, which made me believe it was the directional pad as nothing else seemed to fit the description.

Also, and unfortunately, we bought the dvd at a garage sale, and the people having the garage sale were just given the dvd player by someone driving by because the dvd player wasn't working properly because their child stuck a little peice of paper in it, and now that we removed the piece of paper, the dvd player works fine, minus the blocks that were put on dvd's!!!

    Hello,

I did try the instructions you provided with respect to making teh player region free and so far no luck -- nothing happens when I press 'Pause' on the remote. I was wondering if it would cause any problem to a dvd if I tried the same instructions with a dvd in the player as there would be something to read, and therefore something to 'Pause'!!!

I appreciate your help in this matter and hope we can get this fixed.

Would like to add options and our player is asking for a 4 digit password... we never entered one nor do we have the manual after we moved.

Hi,

May I suggest that you make the player region free?

Multi Region Hack
1. Power on the player with no disk in the drive
2. Press "PAUSE" on the remote
3. Enter "3 1 4 1 5 9" on the remote (the word COdE appears on the display)
4. Enter "0" on the remote (0 = All Regions, 1 = Region 1, 2 = Region 2, etc.)
5. Press "PAUSE" on the remote
6. Power the player off and then back on

The password may have been changed to a four digit password by previous owner hence not letting you enter a 6 digit one.

Contact the previous owners for the password.

Did you manage to unlock it?

The code won't work with a disc in the unit. The problem could be the fact that it is not an original remote. So, after you punch in the code and turn the player off and then on...no difference?

What is the code to program a Zenith digital converter box?

If you have a recent GE remote, it may have a code for your Zenith STB. The code list included in the package with the remote may include it. In any event, you can use the code search feature of the remote to find a code that will work. if you search through all codes stored in the remote without success, you may have to try another universal remote. All universal remotes do not contain all possible codes.

I need harmontec dv-105 's remote code

A code for Centrios brand DVD player works for the Harmontec DV-105, but not perfectly. The 4 digit code for some GE/Zenith/RCA universal remotes is 1061. It gives the basic functions for playing.

Most remotes use the same code sets. Here's what Radio Shack says for your brand:

vcr:0000,0039,1137,1479

Has your machine ever played CDs? There could be a problem with the maximum speed you are making your CDs with. Try a much slower speed. Just because the discs say they can be burned at such and such a speed does not mean that that's the optimum speed for your computer...accordianman
