Question about Mitsubishi WD-62528 62 in. LCD Television

Dark blotches / Dirty behind screen

Just recently, I've noticed several dark blotches of varying color on the screen. It's literally all over the screen when I'm watching TV. If I'm simply staring at a blue screen on the TV, they are all scattered around on the screen. It looks pretty bad from a distance, however when I'm standing directly in front of the TV up close, the blotches are not easily visible. I'm thinking that it's just dirty behind the screen, and if I was able to remove the screen I could clean it. Can someone please tell me how to remove the screen on this TV, or of another way to resolve this issue? Thank you.

I have a WD 62528 that is 3 years old. Can see spider webs accross screen and it has become dark and blotchy over the years. Tried to remove screen with no luck. After removing screews on back there seems to be some kind of clips half way down on the sides of the screen holding it in place. Speaker covers will not come off without damaging the plastic sides. Why can't I get the screen off and what are those clips that seem to be causing this restriction.

It could be dust in the mirror or in the optics,in this set if im not mistaken you have acces to the mirror from the back, anywhere from 12-20 screws it sould be easy to remove plastic cover first and the the mirror.this mirror are very delicate you dont want to leave fingr prints on it it will show just like the dust is showing right know. taking the mirror off will also give acces to the lense.
use someting soft to clean it.

When the screen is dark there are lines that run back and forth across the screen which is only noticable when pitcure is dark immage.

the screen bias needs to be turned down-ehind the front cover which is behind the grille there is a small black square about 3 inch square 6 little knobs sticking out 3 say in small letters screen and 3 say focus, don't adjust the focus just the screen for the coresponding color that shows up when picture is dark.best way to do this is darken the room and put it on video input with no signal if lines are white slowly
adjust 1 color after the other counterclockwise untill
lines disappear if only 1 color shows then only adjust the knob with the matching color. this is a very fine adjustment, to much will make your auto focus stop working. check it after you are done

HI, I have a NEC monitor 1760nx, dark blotches on the screen

Listen, for what it is going to cost you to fix the unit, you are better off replacing it and having a new warranty to boot. Simply not cost effective to repair given the cost of a new monitor these days.

Pixels aren't refreshing correctly in upper right hand side of screen

You might have a Service Co. come out and look at it. It sounds like the Z module is not doing it's job of erasing all prior images after a scene change. Some models there are adjustments for that internally. ( only for a tech ) Start a paper trail now.

Dark Blotches

This is probably caused by dust, either on the mirror, lens, or possibly inside the light engine. There is a 5" dia hole on the side of the back of the tv where you can take out one screw and take the door off. this is just big enough for you to put your hand through to clean the mirror and lens. Hope this helps.

Blotches on screen.

suspect the optical engine. are they present after initial turn off before the blinking light comes on and the cooling process starts? if so then it will be optical engine issue. can be very pricey by the way

Dark Blotch on rear projection TV screen

usually these are caused by cleaning the screen with a damp cloth or fkuid rear projection tv's usually have two plastic screens separated by about quarter inch with bulbs between, one being a magnified screen.problem is,condensation can occur causing various blotches, letting the screens naturly dry out usually solves this but failing this you have to strip down and wipe them with clean dry cloth.be careful though the inside screen is very delicate.
