On the dash board just left of the steering wheel in the same panel as the trip counter is a switch ours has ENG and MET. Push this switch. That is what works for our car.

Wondering if a car has over 100,000 or 200,000 miles on the car means that the motor is going bad

all depends on how well the car has been looked after and driven, I've owned a car with 150,000 miles + on it and it drove like new, then i got another one with 100,000miles and it was horrible (motor burnt oil) so it really depends on what car it is and how well its been taken care of.

Is it good to buy a 1999 dodge durango with 200,000 miles on it

200000 miles on a engine is gamble.if you had 5.9 diesel engine.you have more miles left on it.if you buy 200000 miles vechicle look for sign blue smoke or heavy white smoke.make sure you have good power going up hill good, throttle response have no flat spots, make sure engine not missing, and knocking.if all is good buy, just dont pay a too much money have too too many miles on it.buy as is no warranty.

Recently the Maintenance Required light comes on and blinks for a couple of minutes, then goes off. We put new brakes on the front and we changed the oil and I thought the light would stop, but it's still...

the car is telling you that the oil needs to be changed/ the milage has reached the limit for needing to be changed. even if you have changed the oil it will still warn you after 7500 miles to change the oil. To make the light go off, press and hold the knob the resets your milage for 15 secs then turn the key to the on position(dont start the car) then continue to hold the knob in for about 30 secs, release, turn the car off, wait 5 secs, turn car to on position, then back off the start the car it should clear the maintence light.

At how many miles do I need to change the timing belt on a 2006 town and country turing?

the recommended ?? milage for renewing belt on these is between 100,000 -120,000 miles but again this is a recommended time/milage so if you are close to this milage ? i would advise renewal also make sure water pump shows no sign of impending leakagewhilst changing belt and tensioner

What milage should you change the timing belt kia sportage

It's customary to change timing belt and water pump anywhere between 80K-120K miles.  I typically try to get them done on my vehicles before I reach 100K unless I'm having trouble before that.  Hope this helps.  Thanks for an honest rating.

Dodge Intrepid 2000

Have had two intrepids that each lasted to almost 200000 miles - even with teenagers driving the last few years. The gear shifting thing came up on both of them. It has always been hit or miss as to when this happens. the only solutions we used were add transmission fluid, if necessary, and otherwise change the trans fluid if its been 50,000 miles since the last change. Also, letting it sit a few minutes (to cool?) does make a difference.
