I don't have directions for my daughter's Scandisk MP3 player. I am trying to charge the battery while connected to my computer. It says connected but does not charge. What do I do to have it start...

M240 doesnt support charging have to replace the battery everytime it runs out. It uses one AAA size battery and can be replaced by opening the cover at the back of the player.

You can manually transfer files thru My Computer>Device Name (m240). Just drop the files, no folders, into the device. Best of Luck.

Jan 21, 07 I called and spoke with a Sandisk rep on Jan 16 about the "Sansa m240 startup screen" freeze-up problem that so many are experiencing. He said a bad batch was sent out in early December and on those m240''s there is "NO POSSIBLE FIX" for that problem, but no plans for a recall. He said he could not discuss what the problem was, but I guess it would be a hardware issue, since a firmware issue could easily be resolved. He said anyone with this problem is requested to call Sandisk and get a MRA number, then return the m240 to Sandisk for a replacement. If you have one that''s frozen on the Sansa m240 startup screen (all other freeze-ups can probably be corrected) take it back to your place of purchase or call Sandisk immediately. <>

MP3 problem

Mine does this, and so does my friend's player. Just unscrew the back, remove the battery for 30 seconds, put it back together. Works for me.
