Watts of the resistors convergence tbl

After changing the chips , I found my 3 resistors open for the JVC convergence problem, 220,2.2 150 ohms for the blue color , but they don't have the watts or volt info. I 'don't find a local store to buy also.

Yes, they are in pairs(look at the 1/2 watt ones) and you will see two identical pairs with one for each chip---if I remember this model they may be 1.8 ohm----only very low value resistors will pop----also there will or should be a pico fuse for each chip on that board---orange or green etc that looks like a resistor and they may (going from memory) be marked 3a or 3 amp----both the resistors and the possible fuses can be checked with a meter----no reading and bad.

Convergence Resistors keep burning up

Some simple advice---if resistors are smoking one of the chips is shorted----The set has two voltages that go to them--one a positive voltage and one a negative voltage.

If either chip is shorted you can replace the resistors all year and not get anything. The resistors are protection in case one or both chips short----

Remove all old heat grease and install two new chips and replace the resistors at the same time.

Note that the set may have pico fuses on the power board also.

I have a Hitachi 43fdx01b and I have just replaced the two convergence chips because of a "Red" convergence issue. I learned the hard way about the desoldering and resoldering, but got it done. Now i...

did you check the resistors by the convergence chips? check to see if they are open. the resistors are usually lined up on the other side of the heatsink as the convergence chips.

RK42 2.2 ohm 1 Watt
RK46 1.5 ohm 1 Watt
RK50 2.2 ohm 1 Watt
RK54 1.5 ohm 1 Watt

I had a convergence problem on my JVC AV-48WP30, and followed the instructions posted by SD Tech. I used STK-392-150 chips and I replaced 1 burned out resistor that had no bands, but was marked 1.8 ohm J...

Yes, it does not happen often but you may have installed or got a new chip that is bad--you did apply heat sink compound to the new chips?

Check all the resistors carefully when you do this and double check all the soldering you do.

I just replaced the convergence board on my JVC AV-56WP74, but the red still won't line up. Are there other parts that should be changed?

you also need to check and replace low value resistors in that circiut.they are all 1 watt, usually they get discolored when stressed.R842 2.2 ohm,R854 and R846 1.5 ohm,R850 2.2 ohm,R858 3.3 ohm,R862 1.8 ohm.they must be the exact value available in MD from surburban electronics.please note stk392-110 upgrade to stk392-150 for future referance.ONCE AGAIN CHECK ALL LOW VALUE RESISTORS

Jvc av48wp74 horizontal convergence unadjustable after after repair

you have to lift one side of the resistor from circuit in order to measure resistance otherwise a open resistor will not read open as you will be reading the resistance from the surrounding circuit. Always lift one side of a resistor out of circuit when testing with a ohms meter.
