Question about Microsoft Xbox 360 Console

1 Answer

Xbox and screen

There are little blocks everywhere on my screen. They only appear though on my players and in my dashboard most everything else is ok unless looked at from far away. How do I get these blocks off? It's starting to become more annoying.

Depends what t.v. your using try posting another thread there maybe you will get better results.

Heres some things i can think of

try playing through channel 3 instead of 4 or vice versa, try playing on video or input mode. if your using a cable adapter try tilting it or screwing it on tighter.

I have a 320gb hard drive for my Xbox and when it is inserted it doesn't show on the dashboard for memory devises

In this process your hard drive will be formatted, so back up all files to another hard drive, laptop, or be prepared to lose everything on your hard drive. After you have backed everything up, plug your hard drive into an Xbox 360 then go 'My Xbox/System Settings/Memory.Select 'USB Storage Device/Configure Now' then accept the warning. After the formatting is complete a Performance Warning box will appear, click 'OK.' Now in the 'Storage Devices' screen you should see a new option 'Memory Unit.' This shows that the formatting was successful. Disconnect your hard drive, then connect it to your laptop, load on some media (makes sure the file types are compatible), then reconnect it to your Xbox 360. Your selected media should not appear under 'Portable Device' in the Video/Music/Picture Library.

Probably won't help but it's all I can come up with.

Default zoom is Ctrl + 0 (zero), though I think that would apply to everything not just one program.

Plays dvds on xbox 360 fine, but no picture for games/dashboard

already solved it. thanks. i couldn't see the xbox settings blade because of the blank screen so switched my component cable to the tv setting instead of the hdtv setting, then i could see the dashboard in non-hd and switched the resolution to 720p while simultaneously switching the component cable back to the hdtv setting. that worked.

With the latest update to the Xbox Dashboard available from Xbox Live®, you can change the default display mode of the Xbox Dashboard from 480i to 480p. Connect your console to the component inputs of a 480p-capable TV using an Xbox High Definition AV Pack toview the Xbox Dashboard in high definition. To get the latest Xbox Dashboard Using a Broadband connection and the Ethernet connector on the back of the console, connect your Xbox to the Xbox Live servers. When you do so, the latest version of Xbox Live, including the Xbox Dashboard, automatically downloads. You do not need to subscribe to Xbox Live for this update to automatically download to your Xbox. But if you don't have an Xbox Live account, get one! To set the Xbox Dashboard to 480p Connect your Xbox console to the component inputs of a TV that supports 480p with an Xbox High Definition AV Pack. Start the Xbox console without a disc in the tray to run the Xbox Dashboard.
