Will not print red - Kodak ESP 5 Printer

Either you are out of red ink or the print head is getting plugged. Most printers substitute the nearest available color when a color runs out or the head is plugged. As some shades of red are made with yellow mixed, it therefore prints only in yellow if red is unavailable.

I would say the ribbon is not installed correctly, and needs flipping so that red is at the other edge.

Red ink problem

red is the combination of Yellow and Magenta toner, try printing one of each independently, if either is printing correctly yellow and magenta you should be able to print red. good luck

Print diferent colors

Run a test print by pressing ink etc.

Do you see all 4 block lines (BK/C/Y/M) or just BK and red?

It would be helpfull if you post the test print here!

Hello,

This is Romeet, id like to try and help. Assuming you have windows XP installed,

go to "Start", select " Printers and Faxes"

go to your printer ( HP deskjet 3745 ) and right click it and select properties.

Click on " Print Test Page ", tell me what color does the Printout come in.

Click on menu on the printer,scroll down and choose clean printhead or go to maintenance and then click on clean printhead .After that try to print. If issue persists,call kodak @ 1800 421 6699 and they will replace the printhead for you free of cost.Printhead is the part which holds the cartridges and has 4000 nozzles which sucks ink from cartridges.It Might have gone bad...
