Re: how to delete names/places you dont want anymore

Can you tell me what you mean by "items" ? if you mean names or places , these cannot be deleted from the Maps but if you mean POI , these can be deleted by entering "manage POI" in your tomtom menue.

If you want to completely delete the files on your card, then just insert it in the card reader of your PC/laptop and then format it.

Remove unwanted favorites

Use the Manage Bookmarks (Firefox) or Organize Favorites (IE). A panel opens listing all your favorite bookmarks. Select 1 or a few (use the CTRL key and keep it pressed to select), then press the Delete button. Confirm the deletion. Move on to other favorites.
To add a bookmark/favorite: Open the page you want and press CTRL D. Give the bookmark a name or leave the default one and press OK. later on, when many favorites are added, you can use the procedure above Manage/Organize to open the panel, Create new folders, move bookmarks around. Close when finished.

Will not register on garmin site

If your unit is not registering on the Garmin website, then the unit is probably already registered. If its already registered, the Garmin website won't recognize it. If you bought it used, you need to call the person who you bought the unit from and tell them to delete their registration so that you can re-register under your name. If you bought it new, call Garmin customer service at 1-800-800-1012 and have them clear the registration. They will require proof of purchase. New Units sometimes get purchased registered and then returned. Some places will place the merchandise back on the shelf after verifying everything is still there.

How do I delete items from recently found? How do

When you want to add a place to your favourites
  • Press WHERE TO
  • Enter the address
  • Instead of pressing GO press SAVE at the bottom of the screen or press VIEW MAP and then SAVE
It will be saved to your favourites folder and the keyboard will come up for you to give it a name.

You don't delete items from recently found. A certain number of items are kept there and overwritten as new ones replace older ones.
