Describe your Panasonic PV-GS35 Mini DV Digital Camcorder Problem: When I turn the camcorder on in the video camera mode the lcd panel and th evf show black, it does not show current picture to record. All the functions on the camera still work but it will not show a picture. I can put old tapes in and play back in vcr mode. If I do record I get sound but black picture. ANy ideas what is wrong. (I do have the lens cap off.)

The Panasonic PV-GS35 will let you record digital media to the mini DV cassette if the other video source has a DV input/output connection. Then you use the 4-pin to 4-pin Firewire DV cable, PV-DDC9 . This cable is available from Amazon, https://www.amazon.com/LETO-FireWire-Panasonic-Camcorder-PV-DDC9/dp/B00MLQVMSK , and other vendors. The digital camera doesn't have the S-video input needed to record from most other sources.

HELLO! IF YOU MOVE THE LCD SCREEN BACK AND FORTH AND YOU SEE PICTURE FOR A SECOND THEN LCD HINGE MUST BE REPLACED,IF NO PICTURE AT ALL MAYBE PROBLEM ON LCD BOARD.

is you camcorder pal or ntsc?

i suggest you insert a head cleaning casette to see if this removes the lines.the lines occur when one of the heads is dirty or not operating. if this does not solve the fault then the head might need changing.

I use an USB video adapter plus the program:
ulead video studio 8.0 se dvd
and it does work on my skipe.

perhaps it has to do with the SP and LP settings, I know certain video editing programs won't capture video recored in LP.
