I have also had the same problem, with the SanDisk Cruzer Micro MP3 Player. When I plug in the disk, the computer will not recognize it. The disk has not been dropped or damaged. The problem appears to stem from when I first plugged the disk into my PC - a message window came up to the effect that the disk was not recognized/authorized, and it asked me if it would like me to continue installing the software. Panicked by the message, I clicked "no", and after this point it refused to recognize the disk. Is there a way for me to "re-set" this so it will install the software? Since this happened, I have clicked "yes" to this message with other SanDisk storage units and they have worked just fine, but my MP3 SanDisk does not work as stated above since I clicked "no."

Try a different USB device on each of the USB ports on your computer.
Hopefully, all your USB ports are working correctly.

Try a different USB port on your computer.
Hopefully, the SanDisk will be detected on one of the ports.

Try a USB port on a different computer.
If the SanDisk still is not detected, then spend $10 to buy a new 4GB flash-drive.

San Disk Micro Cruzer 4GB

Hi there,

Try plugging it in to a different USB port on your computer. Make sure the connecter on the Cruzer is clean and there's no dust inside.

Also, try plugging it in on a different computer.

If none of these work,
I'm afraid it's a hardware problem and there's nothing that can be done about that.

Hope I helped!

How to use flash drive

Cruzer Micro is an USB external memory where you can store files.
It is automatically detected and installed on all Windows OS from Windows 2000 onward, same on Mac OS and recent Linux versions.
All you have to do is plugging the device into USB.
After the flash drive had been automatically installed , it will be displayed under Computer as an external disk.
You can copy and transfer files using Cut, Copy and Paste functions, or Send to function in windows, or the file manager, depending on the OS used.
In Windows, before unplugging the memory from USB , it is better to turn off the computer or use the 'safely remove USB' function located near to the clock, on the lower right hand corner.

I'm not an expert with PCs, but I have a windows 98 Operating system and have been able to use all sorts of flash drives. Everytime I buy a new one, I just plug it into the USB port and in a short time it recognizes NEW HARDWARE and loads the driver. I've used LEXAR 2GB,SANDISK 4GB, VERBATIM 2GB, and recently a ATIVA 4GB
