Problem for Maytag Neptune FAV6800AW Top Load Washer

My Neptune Fav6800aw spin level keeps changing and

My Neptune Fav6800aw spin level keeps changing and beeping. All other buttons are non responsive. I had to unplug the machine to quiet it. Once plugged back in it's continued beeping and will not run. Please help

Hello frankga ,

I’m an owner as you and I feel you have a failure with the Control Board in the Console. With a failure such as this a repair person would start by swapping out that component. The Control Board is under warranty for 5yrs. Call Maytag customer service at 1-800-462-9824. The will need your serial number. It’s located on the back right side of the Console as you face it. If it’s still under warranty they will give you contact info for Maytag authorized repair.

I got Maytag to send me a Control Board I told them my neighbor was a repair person and had diagnosed the issue as a Control Board failure. That saved me a $65 service call to have someone come out and tell me what I all ready knew.

If you decide to keep the machine the Control Board part number is 25001217 (ebay used) 25001217 (Sears Parts Direct) 25001217 (Appliance Zone).

The Service Manual on page 73 has the warranty info. Changing out the Control board is a 10 minute job. Most people have problems just getting the console released from the washer top. Follow the SM and you won’t break off any mounting tabs off the console while releasing it.

With a failure of this type I doubt you will be able to get into Service Mode but you can try. If you want to do that and I will help you and maybe we can read the diag error code blocks.

Can you share with us what you feel may have lead up to your failure? Have you had recent electrical storm activity in your area? I recommend a good surge protector at the washer 120VAC source outlet.
