the program will not detect the viewer

"no photo viewer found ,program terminated"
The viewer has

"load photos from pc"

Can you help me or am I out the price of this viewer ?

I bought 2 units computer will not recognize either.
rebooted, reloaded software, driver. tried to force it to recognize.
second unit, screen won't even come on to menu
