having a hard time getting the battery out - it seems stuck and i have to force it out with a tool. Will replacing the battery fix that problem?

hi,
you are right sir. this battery sticking is due to bulging of the old battery. this happens due to ageing and over charging of battery. this kind of battery is very harmful for the camera. this may cause leakage of battery in the battery slot, which may lead to a big repair from the technician.
sooner you replace the battery safer you will be.
