I understand you are having trouble with your Frigidaire electric dryer not turning on. Make sure the dryer is still plugged into the outlet, and plugged in correctly. Also check to see if the house fuse is blown or circuit breaker tripped? If so, Replace fuse or re-set circuit breaker. Check to make sure that electrical circuit is not overloaded and correct. The dryer must be on a circuit by itself. Overloaded circuits can damage the dryer and possibly cause damage to home. Have a licensed electrician check to make sure it is on a circuit by itself. Additionally, the thermal limiter could have tripped or possibly an internal problem with the dryer. A thermal limiter automatically turns off the motor in the unlikely event of an overheated situation. A service technician must replace the thermal limiter after correcting the fault. If you have check the plug, fuses, and circuit breaker and still no power I would recommend contacting a local technician to diagnose and service your electric dryer.

There can be many reasons why your dryer will not start or turn...

The most common causes are the belt breaking or jumping off, or the motor goingbad...

The clicking sound your hearing is in the gas valve and or ignitor that are located near your dryers motor. It sounds as if you have a problem with the motor or motor switch itself. This can be repaired but the repair most often requires the replacement of the motor itself.

Make sure there's power getting to the washer. Check for a tripped circuit breaker or a blown fuse. Check the wall socket for power. Sometimes the power cord disconnects at the washer, if this is the case, the wiring must be repaired or replaced.

If all checks out OK above, replace the control or, timer module.

Do you hear the motor running. If you do then the belt is broken. If you dont then you have an issue with either the centrifical switch on the motor or the motor itself

Check the thermal fuse on the rear of the dryer.
Remove the rear panel. The thermal fuse is 1 and 1/2 inches long by 1/2 inch wide. White in color and located just left of the dryer exhaust vent. 2 purple wires. Jump the wires together and start the dryer. If it runs, replace the thermal fuse.

I had the same problem, take the easy rout first and check for obstructions in your venting. Mine was clogged and it shut itself down (to protect itself?)
