Re: having problem in recovery of my laptop

You have to have a recovery CD.
The partition contains information that would help recover your system and is used by the recovery CD.

I need to reboot windows xp on my toshiba satellite laptop

The Toshiba Satellite A10-S169 includes several utilities to improve the performance or security of the computer, and to reconfigure the system's settings. Toshiba Satellites running Windows Vista 32-bit and Windows XP come with the Toshiba HDD Recovery Utility, which allows you to create a recovery CD of your system and applications. The recovery CD will allow you to restore your system and its settings in case your hard drive fails.

Click "Start." Click "All Programs." Expand "Hard Disk Recovery Utilities." Click "Recovery Disc Creator." Select "CD" as the type. Check "Recovery and Applications." Insert a CD into the disc drive. Click "Burn." The Toshiba A10-S169 will begin writing the recovery content to the CD. Follow the on-screen prompts to burn your recovery files to disc. Hope this helps.

My daughters computer would not really work except in safe mode. She has a Toshiba Satellite laptop (L450 series). I didn't have any restore disks so I went through the Toshiba Recovery Wizard to...

You very likely have a failing hard drive. Since the recovery system is also located on the same drive, you will have to obtain a new drive from toshiba with the recovery system on it or obtain a complete recovery set of dvd's. Since the system is not under warranty, then you could probably save some money by obtaining a suitable replacement (larger) hard drive from a reputable online source (like and then reinstall everything from the recovery set of DVD's you get from Toshiba. Recovery set should only cost about $30 or less. A new drive will run about $50 and up. The drive is actually pretty simple to replace. Since you will be replacing the drive, you should try and copy the important files (pics, music, etc) to a portable drive (hard drive, usb flash drive, etc.)

Here is a link to see what is involved in accessing your hard drive:

I want Recovery for toshiba satellite a665-s6056

If you made recovery media for the laptop then you can recover the laptop using the CD or DVDs you created when you bought it. Failing that Toshiba may have included a recovery utility so try pressing R on boot or F10/F11.

If they haven't, contact Toshiba and you should be able to buy recovery DVDs for your laptop.

How can i recover deleted recordings?

Yes, the most effective way to recover your files from the hard disc is to use a data recovery software. But do not rely on freeware. It's highly possible that freeware will mess up your computer with virus and spyware. What's more, whether it recovers your files intact(some recover the files but can't open them) or not is not guaranteed.
So, I think you can try this one that I have used to get the files back from pen drive.

After using recovery disks for toshiba laptop satellite l305d i get error message 10-fa12-045d, please help??

Toshiba recovery error seem likely to be due to a failing/failed HDD. If your laptop is in warranty then visit Toshiba service center. Otherwise try this--------> I would like you to try checking the HDD with an error checking program from floppy or CD or with the drive removed from the laptop and tried in a USB external enclosure in another PC.

If the HDD itself is made by Toshiba (which seems likely) you would need a generic testing program since Toshiba don't provide their own HDD checking program.

HDTune can be used from another PC.

Data recovery

Deleting or formatting won't make the data in hard drive erased permanently.

Those deleted data is still stored on the hard drive , it's just invisible or inaccessible. Only the FAT or NFTS table is erased (the information about where those data were saved), but the real data are still intact there in sectors of the hard drive.

So as long as those data are not overwritten by new data, it's highly possible to recover them. And the MOST Effective way is to rely on some format recovery programs.

Try asoftech data recovery program, which can recover data after deeply scanning your hard drive to look for lost data you accidentally deleted or formatted.
