Problem for Hitachi 50UX57B 50 in. Rear Projection Television
Color Seperation after playing Wii Video Games.
Color Seperation after playing Wii Video Games. We just replaced the power supply about two months ago on our 9 year old Hitach Projection TV. My kids hooked a Wii to it and played about an hour last night, no problem. an hour this morning no problem. then tonight after half an hour, the colors seperated on the TV. Its like a 3d image without wearing the 3d Glasses.

- My question is, we replaced the power supply and had the TV Cleaned about two months ago. We hardly use this TV. Last night my wife watched a VCR Tape on it and now we played about three hours of Wii over two days. do you think the its just a fluke and would have eventually happened from just watching the TV.Oct 18, 2009
- Please pardon if you already got this.But are you saying that this would have eventually happened even from just watching TV. We hardly use this TV since having it repaired. Maybe 5-10 hours in two months. however, the kids were playing the Wii for about two hours.

This is common problem with rear projection TVs and this kind of symptom comes when convergence section gets problem, specially convergence out ICs (two ICs) got damaged.
This problem is not related with Wii or any other video source.
Need to replace 2 convergence out ICs in TV, qualified TV tech will do this job.

Right, This problem comes because of over heat of convergence out ICs either TV is showing what ever program on its screen, it can happened when TV runs for hours.
When replacing convergence out ICs, please ask Tech to paste silicon heat compound at back of ICs and aluminum heat sink too, it is good for heat transfer because these tow ICs got heated due to current drain.
